Fun fact: I have name lists. A LOT of them. As a writer, most of them are name ideas for current and future characters. A few are potential names for future children IF I have any. (Probably gonna adopt, but anyways).
One of my favorite types of names is using surnames as first names. I LOVE these and have quite a few of them. Beckett and Chesney for a girl, Cohen and Donovan for a boy, etc. I have a l o t.
But I have sUch mixed feelings when there's a celebrity with a last name I LOVE because like, I freakin' love that name (and more often than not, the person too, but shhh), but there's always gonna be people out there who make the name association. And even though some of the names come from celebrities I like, I just wanna use the name because I like that too, you know? I may like the celebrity attached to the name, but they're not my reason for liking it.
There are three surnames in particular that I LOVE as first names, but they have celebrities attached to them:
Everly and Lennon for girls.
Nesmith for a boy.
...Yeah. Didn't take you too long to make the connections, did it?
And I love all four people that those names are attached to, but they're nOT THE REASON I LIKE THOSE NAMES. Hell, I genuinely love the name Michael too, which doubly fucks me over—but I've liked it looooong before I found out about the Michael.
Sighhhhhh.
