The Alchemist encampment was a days ride away from Modak's castle. Addison had fallen asleep and was leaning against Jurriaan's chest. Fane had been flying beside the horse for the last five minutes, when he suddenly swerved to the left and flew into trees.
"Fane, where are you going?" Jurriaan shouted. The dragon was nowhere in sight, so Jurriaan shook Addison awake.
"What is it?" She said sleepily.
"Fane flew off." Addison sat up immediately at the mention of Fane.
"Which way?" Jurriaan pointed to where Fane had flown into the forest.
"Dammit." Addison said before sliding off the horse and pulling out her sword.
"What's wrong." Jurriaan said as he got off the horse and followed her into the trees.
"How often do you come to this part of the forest?"
"Not very often, why?" Addison sighed.
"There's a faerie camp about a mile that way."
"Outside the kingdom?"
"Yea, some choose to leave so they don't have to follow the queen. All types of creatures have separate camps, if you know where to look."
"You've spent a lot of time in the forests, haven't you?"
"When I first became a rider, I spent a lot of time alone in the forest." She said as they walked through the forest. They walked in silence for a few more minutes before a group of armed faeries stopped them.
"Who goes there?" The leader asked. She had dark hair and black feathery wings with red tips.
"My name is Jurriaan." The leader pointed her bow towards Jurriaan.
"Relax Lexi, he isn't a wraith." Said the pixie sitting on her shoulder.
"What about you?" The leader said, looking at Addison.
"I am Addison." She said, moving her hair away from her left arm. Lexi smiled and hugged Addison.
"Welcome sister Addison." Addison smiled.
"Thank you." Jurriaan frowned.
"Do you two know each other?"
"No, but we are one and the same." Lexi said. Jurriaan glanced between Addison and Lexi still not sure what Lexi meant. Addison and Lexi both smiled and showed him their left arms. They had identical tattoos of a dragon with its tail twisted into an intrigant deign.
"You're a rider." Jurriaan realised. Lexi nodded.
"Come, you can rest in the village."
"Um... before we go, have you seen my dragon? He flew this way while I was sleeping." Addison glared at Jurriaan, clearly blaming him.
"Oh, you mean the little blue one. He has quite a bite on him. He's sedated at the moment. Filly, go grab him." The pixie flew off her shoulder and came back a few moments later holding a cage. Fane was lying in the cage with his eyes closed. Addison ran over to him and opened the cage before pulling him out. Fane immediately jumped on Addison's shoulder and growled.
"Fane, be nice. She's a rider."
I know, but I don't like her dragon.
"What's wrong with it?"
It's a fire dragon
"Oh." Addison looked at Lexi, then back at Fane.
"I'll sort it out." Addison stood and smiled at Lexi
