Run!

Chapter 17

Kylee stood up.

"Ok, let's go hunting!" Kylee said.

"Ok." I said.

We walked for about 2 miles down and then turned to the right and began to walk about 1 mile and then we stopped. There was a rabbit hopping really slowly in the dark green grass. We stood there silently. Kylee got the gun and aimed steady. Then she pulled the trigger. We went to the rabbit and it was dead. I thought maybe we'd let it go but it was certainly dead to me. I picked it up and Kylee handed me a backpack.

"Here, put it in this backpack so we could hide it." Kylee said.

"Ok"

I put it in the bag and then we stared out into the clear woods. There was nothing. Kylee suggested maybe we'd go back like 1-2 miles back from where we came so we wouldn't be so faraway. When we got to about 2 miles closer to where we've came from, we stood there silent and looking everywhere.Then Kylee broke the silence.

"So, I've been needing to tell you something" Kylee said.

"Oh really? What is it?" I said kind of scared because of the look on her face.

"Well I've been needing to tell you that here in the woods only me and this old guy that lives with his dog live here. And the old guy and I are always kind of competing for our food so I try to beat him and he has always had such a huge amount of hate towards me."

"That's bad."

"Well let's just hope he doesn't come out right now and start hunting" Kylee said.

"Yeah, we better hope"I said.

We walked slowly and then Kylee handed me the gun.

"Here, when your ready to shoot and you've aimed good enough, pull the trigger."

"Ok" I said whispering.

I aimed and then shot. I shot a rabbit. Kylee then suggested maybe we start walking home. We walked and were close to the the cabin. I started looking around and then I saw a man pointing his gun towards Kylee. I whispered to Kylee,"Theres a guy pointing his gun at you lets run."I started running and it took about 4 seconds for Kylee to realize the words I told her. I ran as fast as I could to keep up with Kylee. I  stopped running when I heard a gun shot.

I ran back and saw Kylee laying on the floor, but she wasn't dead I knew that for sure. I flipped her over struggling. She was really close to losing a lot of blood from her arm. I looked back and the guy that was pointing his gun, but he was gone. I tried to help Kylee up and she began to cry in pain.We walked slowly to the cabin and when we got there ,Kylee mumbled something."The keys are in the front pocket of the backpack."

I got the backpack and opened the lock and then opened the door. I saw Kaytie crying in the corner and Avery on the floor. I helped Kylee onto the couch.Her arm was dripping blood on the floor. I wanted to know what had happened to Kaytie and Avery but I had to concentrate on Kylee.

I checked the closet that was hidden in the kitchen.There was a first aids kit, In there.

I took it out and went to the living room I saw Avery still laying on the floor. She was alive but just unconscious. I went over to help Kylee and cleaned her wound and put a big band aide with a string to hold the blood from coming down. I gave her some medicine for the pain and the medicine said it was recommended also to put people to sleep in about 2-3 minutes.

I gave it to her and she drank it. She fell asleep in about 2 minutes. Then I helped Avery and she came back up with some medicine that I found in the kit I took Avery to her room and left Kylee on the couch so that she would wake up and she could be ready to go to her room to rest.--
