Chapter 25:The Nice Lady

I didn't think Avery and I were going to be able to be living homeless on the streets.We started walking down the street.We walked into the central part of the town and we both walked by most of the stores.

I felt a drip of water drip onto my nose.Then more drops of water came down.I hugged Avery and tried to keep her warm.We stopped walking when we got to a little bench with an umbrella.We sat down and hugged to keep warmth.I touched Avery's face and felt tears rolling down her cheeks.I wiped them off.

I looked at the cars passing by.I wasn't expecting someone coming to pick us up but someone did.A small car stopped in front of me and Avery.A lady got out and walked over to Avery and I.

"Your poor things!",she said sadly.

"Who are you?",I asked.

"Oh!I'm sorry.My name is Megan Shrey."

"What are you going to do to us?"

"Well if you and your sister don't have any where else to go, I could take you guys to my house."

I didn't know what to do.I didn't know if I should trust her.She seemed so nice.I decided maybe the best decision to do was, to follow her home.

"Ok."I said nervously

"Alright then let's get into the car",She said smiling.

She opened the back door for me and Avery.We got on.I was so shocked.I never seen a car like this.When I used to live back home,My dad didn't let me touch,get in,or even see the car.But eventually I came home from school one day,and I looked out of the window and saw the car.It was a really small car.That was the first time I'd ever seen a car.Sometimes I did hear my mom and dad fighting saying "No you don't do anything here!So you go pay for some gas!".

When I finished my thought,I looked out the window.The car stopped.We were at a big beautiful house, with a garden that covered the edges of the house.The house was white and had probably about 5 bedrooms.

I was so impressed.

"Ok,so we're here.Your new home!",she looked so happy she could probably even burst.

I was still shocked that I didn't even say anything.I just grabbed Avery's small hands and helped her down.Same with Avery she was a bit shocked but also scared.

The lady shut the door as soon as we got off. She guided us through the pathway,that leaded us up to the door.She got her keys from her purse and then opened the door.I didn't say a word neither did Avery.We just stood like idiots at the entrance door.

So they met a lady that wanted to help them out and raise them as her own but when Mary and Avery get there they are shocked.
