Run!

Chapter 19

"Are you okay?" Kylee said.

"Yeah, I just had a terrible nightmare" I cried telling her.

"Well it's ok, I'll stay here with you until you fall asleep" Kylee said worried.

"Thanks, hey what time is it?", I asked.

"It's 2:47 a.m"

"Ok."

"So what was your dream about?"

"Oh. It started out by me waking up in the morning as getting out of bed. Then I went to check on you and Avery, and you guys were ok. But then I started panicking because I didn't see Kaytie so I went all over the house and then looked for her outside. When I went to the back of the cabin,  I saw her dead on the ground, she had a bullet through her stomach and her legs and arms were cut off."

I didn't realize I was crying until Kylee put her hand on my face and wiped away my tears.

"Look Mary, I will always try to be there for you so you should've told me that you were scared of terror things."

I felt like laughing a bit because I wasn't so sure what that really meant. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

That Morning...

I opened my eyes and felt a hand over my head. It was Kylee's arm. I didn't want to wake her up but I needed to get up and see where Kaytie was. I slowly picked Kylee's arm and got up.

I walked out of the room and went to the next room. I saw Avery and Kaytie sleeping together. I went in and hugged Kaytie. She woke up and looked really sleepy.

"Mom, when are we going to find our house?"

"Soon Kaytie, we need to be patient and maybe we will stay here for now on", I wasn't quite sure what more to tell her.

"Ok, mom.But when am I going to turn 5? This month right?"

"Oh yeah, it is this month."

I looked on the calendar that was right beside me.

"Your birthday is next Friday, and today is barely Sunday."

"Ok mom."Kaytie fell asleep again as soon as she was done.

I walked out and saw Kylee, sitting in the kitchen chair.

"Good morning" I said happily.

"Oh, Hey" Kylee said really sad.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

"Oh, nothing" she said.

I knew something was wrong, but I didn't want to force her to tell me or else maybe she'd get really mad.

"So we need to go hunting today again, because we need more meat. We hardly got any yesterday" Kylee said.

"Are you kidding me!?" I said yelling.

"Look Mary, we don't have a damn choice!" she said angrier.

"Well you almost died and you want to go back!?"

"Mary, If you're going to be living here you have to obey my rules and I've decided for us to go back hunting!" Kylee yelled.

"Well I'm choosing, No!" I said backing away slowly.

"Well then why don't you just leave!Because you aren't following my rules so I don't care anymore so why don't you just leave! I don't need you here!"

I started crying and left into the room where Kaytie was.

Why was Kylee so angry? Why was she so demanding?

I picked Kaytie up and wiped my tears off. I got her shoes and went to the next room.
