Chapter 8: New Friends

Christian's P.O.V

It's been a month since Em's accident. She's been really sad. She never comes out of her apartment. Like she really can with a wheel chair and being on the 3rd floor. I visit her once or twice a day to check on her. I feel so bad for her. The therapy isn't going to well.

Grayson has been pretty helpful too. He checks on every now and then too. I know he likes her, but he won't tell her for some reason. Probably because he doesn't want to put any pressure on her right now with everything going on.

As for Ethan and me, we haven't really gotten to hang out very much since everything happened. I really like him, but I don't know if he feels the same way. I mean yeah he was the one that kissed me, but I don't know if it was out of pity for me or what.

I just hope I don't end up being heartbroken in the end.

March 20th (5 weeks since the accident)

It was around 3 in the afternoon and I was home alone, so I decided to go to the park.
I grabbed my phone, headphones and my keys then walked out the door. When I got to the park I noticed I was the only one there except for a two girls at the swings. They looked about my age so I decided to go over and introduce myself.

"Hey, I'm Chris." I said making my way over.

"I'm Dylan, and this is my friend Rose." The brunette said pointing to the blonde next to her.

"So are you guys new around here?" I asked sitting on a swing.

"Yeah we just met actually, I'm from California, and Rose is from Colorado." Dylan said.

"So what school are you guys going to?" I ask, trying to make conversation.

"ORMS" Rose said.

"Oh cool I go there too!" I say all perky.

"Really? What grade are you in?" Rose ask with excitement.

"8th" I reply

"Oh cool, I'm in 8th, and Rose is in 7th." Dylan said pointing to her then her self as she did.

We spent about 20 minutes getting to know each and the things we like. Turns out that they like some of the stuff I like too like Ariana Grande, and Star Wars, and etc.. It turns out that Rose in like in love with Hayes Grier. Oh boy.

It was starting to get dark so I invite them to stay over at my place for the night. Once we got there I made some Chicken Alfredo for the 3 of us since my mom was gone on another business trip. There were a lot of left overs so I decided to text Ethan and invite him and Gray over.

Me: Hey I made Chicken Alfredo if you and Gray want to come over and have dinner with me and my friends.
Ee-tee-wee-tee💘: Oh cool thx we'll be over in a sec
Me: ok:)

I set down my phone and made a plate to bring up to Em because I don't want to leave her out. Once I got back from taking Em her food, the twins were already there, inhaling there food. I laugh.

"I see you two have met the twins." I say to Dylan and Rose who are sitting at the table with them.

After about and hour of hanging out at my place, the twins get up and head to the door.

"Thanks for dinner, Chris." Grayson said heading out the door.

"Yeah, thanks well I'll see you two around." Ethan said then proceeded outside.

"Chris can I talk to you for a sec?" He said grabbing my hand pulling me outside.

"Listen, I've been thinking and I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me? I know it's weird because we're 3 years apart but it doesn't have to be if we don't make it. I really like you, and I hope you feel the same." Ethan said moving a piece of hair from my face pull it behind my ear.

My cheeks turn red, and I begin to say "Ethan, I really like you too." His eyes widen in excitement. "I would love to go on a date with you." I said with a huge smile on my face causing him to do the same.

He's pulls me into a hug that lasted about 15 seconds, then pulls away and says "Tomorrow at 7. I'll be waiting here." He said then kissed my cheek and walked across to his apartment.

I walk in to the girls standing there with smirks on their faces.

"Aww, Christian's got herself a boyfriend!!!!" Rose shouted and laughed.

"Sshhh! These walls aren't exactly made out of cement. They might here." I say to her.

"So what if they do?" Dylan says with a smirk.

"Aww, she's blushing." Rose says pointing out my tomato-like cheeks.

I just role my eyes and laugh. We spend the rest of the night binge watching shows on Netflix and talking about our celebrity crushes.

"I think I know who Christian's is." Rose said giggling.

"Ethan!" Dylan said through a cough.

I through a pillow at her head, then we all laugh.

2 Days later.

Christian's P.O.V

Today I have to take Em to physical therapy at Saint Francis hospital. I know she's not looking forward to it, because she just gets worse every time.

I know she just wants to give up, but as someone who cares about her, I can't let that happen.

When I'm done getting ready for the day I grab my things then head upstairs. I knock on the door.

"Come in!" I hear her yell.

I open the door and head back to her room.

"Ready?" I ask.

"Ready." She states.
