Em's P.O.V

When I saw her I went into shock. It can't be her. My mom is dead. She has been dead for 4 years.

"Mom?" I ask.

"No, um, I'm your Aunt. Your mom's twin." She says.

Why the hell is everyone twins around here?

"My mom never told me she had a sister." I say.

"Well we haven't really spoken in a while. I just see pictures on Facebook of you and your father every one and a while. Well it's been a few years since I've seen any pictures, but I could tell it was you because of you gorgeous blue eyes." She says walking closer to me and Christian. Wait I totally forgot that Christian is here.

I look over at Christian. Her eyes are wide and she looks like the most confused and uncomfortable person in the world right now.

"Oh I'm sorry, um, this is my best friend Christian." I say pointing to Chris.

"When was the last time you contacted my mother?" I asked my Aunt.

"Around 5 years ago maybe. Why?" She asked looking confused.

"Well she...killed her self 4 years ago." I say in a softer tone.

She just stands there.

"Oh...I'm so sorry...I can't believe this." She says, pulling a chair to sit down. Tears start to form in her eyes.

"I'm sorry too." I say.

That night.

Christian's P.O.V

I'm still very confused about what happened earlier today with Em and her Aunt. I decided not to ask questions, because she looked just as confused as I was.

It's almost 11pm. I can't sleep. I just stay up thinking about life. My brother is dead. My mom is an alcoholic. My best friend is pregnant. And I have no idea what I'm doing with my life.

I use to be able to talk about this stuff with my brother Kian. But he's gone. I walk into his room and open his closet door, revealing his marching band letterman jacket. I know, I know, it's probably the geekiest thing in the world, but I don't care. I'm a band geek and so was he.

He was in the Pride, the Broken Arrow marching band, for his Junior and Senior years of high school, when I was in the 4th and 5th grade. He would tell me stories of the trips he took around the world and how much fun it was. He would tell me that you make the closest family in band.

Ever since then, I made it my goal in life to be apart of it. I don't think I will ever meet someone that once something as bad as I want to be in the Pride. And now I want it even more because he's gone, and if I get in then I will feel even closer to him.

I sit there cuddled up with the jacket and start to cry. I can't take this. Why did he have to die? Why? He had so many life plans. He wanted to be a doctor and be able to help people. Why him? Why not me instead?

I just sit there and cry into the jacket.

He didn't deserve this.

I wake up in my bed, not remembering how I got here. Next to me was the jacket. I guess Liam must have found me and put me in my bed. He knows how much the jacket means to me, so that's why he put it next to me.

I check the time on my phone and read "8:47am". Why is it so early? I normally get up around 11am. Well since I'm up, I'm going to get ready for the day. I walk into the bathroom and do my makeup.

Once I'm done I put on my outfit. A pair of black ripped skinny jeans, and one of my brother's marching band shirts, and a pair of vans. I figured I might as well go to the park and get some fresh air.

I walk out the door and realize that it's freezing outside. I headed towards my room and started to grab a hoodie, when I looked over at the letterman jacket. Perfect. I grab it walk through my apartment as I put in on.

When I open the door and step out of the apartment, Ethan came out of his. He noticed me and smiled. I then was almost embarrassed, because the jacket is huge on me. Then I realize that it shouldn't matter, I should be proud of this. My brother worked hard for it.

"Hey." Ethan said walking over to me.

"Hey." I replied. He then reached out and gave me a hug. It caught me off guard at first, but then I let it happen.

"You okay?" He asked, pulling away.

"Yeah why?" I say a little confused.

"No reason. So where are you going?" He asked as we started walking down the stairs.

"The park. Wanna come?" Is say.

"Sure. Let's go."

Ethan's P.O.V

The night before.

I was bored and wanted to hang out with Christian, so I headed over to her apartment. I was gonna knock on her door, then I realized that it was open. I walk in and whisper her name. No answer. I got worried so I ran to her room. She wasn't there. I start to panic and start checking all of the rooms.

I finally get to the last room. I haven't ever been in there before. I open the door and I was amazed. There were pictures and colleges of nerd stuff like Star Wars and Game of thrones and stuff. Something that really caught my eye was all of the pictures of, who I'm guessing is Chris's brother, in marching band. "The Pride of Broken Arrow 2013-2014 Surrender to Hope." One of the posters said.

I snap out of my gaze and look down to see Chris asleep on a varsity looking jacket. I pick her up and bring her to her bed. She seemed pretty attached to the jacket so I go back and get it. It had her brother's name and his instrument engraved on the front right side of it. There were so many patches on it. I couldn't really count them. It looked really cool. You could tell it represented something more than just an instrument player. It represented literal pride and dignity.

I lay it down next to Chris, then I bend down and kiss her forehead.
