Chapter 3: Jammed

Sophie Morales’ P-O-V

“Urgh! What have I done?!” I told myself kasi kanina ko pa pinipilit na ipasok sa kokote ko yung ginawa kong stupidity for asking him to play Face-off with me.

“It’s simple girl, you placed a game with a gamer.” Sabi ni Ayie habang kumakagat sa burger niya.

“Hey, tell me girl, ano ang nag-udyok sa’yo para patulan siya?”tanong naman sa’kin ni Bev. (Yung ka-date nung ‘Mikee’ nun)

“Well, he was badmouthing anime.”  Nagtinginan yung dalawa sa isa’t isa at ibinaling ang tingin sa’kin.

“That’s it?” tanong ni Bev. They didn’t look convinced. Tumango ako to tell them that, yeah. It was it. Napa face-palm sila, sabay pa at ibinaling nalang yung atensiyon sa pagkain ng may lumapit sa’king lalake.

“H-hey, umm, Sophie.” Sabi nung guy. Tinignan ko siya.

Why does he know me?

“Yes?” sabi ko sa kanya with my eyes glued at him. May inabot siya sa’king maliit na stationery envelope.

“Pinapabigay nung lalakeng ‘yun oh” sabay niyang turo sa may bintana. The horror struck me. Pati si Ayie at Beverly napanganga sa nakita nila.

Kumaway siya sa’min. Habang naka-upo parin sa High walls ng Saint Angelo’s Academy. My eyes were pinned at him. Yes, I know. He’s worse than a Kris Aquino horror movie pero kasi…

“Uyy, Look. May nag-aakyat bakod sa’tin?” I heard some girls squeal.

“Ang gwapo!” narinig kong sigaw ng isang babae.

Oh, please… Yan? Gwapo? Pwede bang sumuka sa harapan ninyo?

Kumaway siya sa mga babae that made them squeal like wild boars. Sumenyas siya na kunin ko na yung letter sa pinagpaabutan niya. Aabutin ko na sana kaso lang kasi nakuha na ni Ayie bago ko pa man mahawakan.

“Give me that!” I tried to reach it from her but she just waved it away from my reach at binasa. OUT LOUD.

“Dear Ms. Campus-Chick-because-of-luck,

          Hey. About the thing that happened to us, I’m sorry ‘bout my attitude and how I did it to you. Sorry kung masyado akong naging rough sa’yo that night. Don’t worry. Next time, I’ll be gentle when I take it from you. Smiley face. From: The Campus Bully.”

Then I heard the crowd gawk.

“Oh em~ Maybe they” I heard someone say

What the Hell!!!! Mga taong grin minded!!!

At the corner of my eyes, I saw the b*stard bursting out laughters making him hold his stomach. I snatched the letter from Ayie and tore it to a thousand pieces. Sarcastically speaking, A MILLION DAMN PIECES. I slammed the table to get everyone’s attention. After a few seconds, silence broke inside the cafeteria.

My moment of revenge. I breathed and roared aloud.

“Hey, freaking handsome guys and devil women out there, may I ask you all a favor?” I asked with my most unaccommodating attitude.

“Y-yeah, of-of course.” I heard some guys say followed by the girls.

“Ok, then.” I stood in the center with my hands on hips.

“Who thinks that, THAT guy there…” tinuro ko siya na hanggang ngayon nakaupo parin sa taas ng wall ng school namin.

“…is handsome?” tanong ko. 25% nagtaas ng kamay.
