Sophia's POV- January 2016

"Soph, there's been a change of plans"

I looked at Miss Val who smiled at me.

"You're doing the All-Around"

She placed her hands on my shoulder and smiled.

"I know you're nervous, but I want you to go out and have fun"

I nodded as she pulled me into a hug. There was something about Miss Val's hugs that were so comforting.

"I'll see you out there, 15 minutes"

She gave me one last squeeze and let me go. Just as she did that, my phone started ringing.

"Better get that"

I watched her leave before reaching for my phone. I looked at the screen to see George was calling me. I answered the call and ignored the look I was getting from Jo as I put the phone against my ear.

"Hello" I said.

"Hey, so we're here. Just wanted to wish you good luck"

I smiled and let out a deep breath.

"Thank you" I replied.

"I don't see your Swedish boo"

I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"He got back from a roady last night, he's probably still asleep" I stated.

He hummed.

"That's a valid excuse, your mom wants to know what you're competing?"

"Miss Val just told me I'm doing All-Around" I answered.

"I'm sure you'll do great. Have fun, see you later"

"See you later" I repeated.

I ended the call and looked at the name under George's name. I decided not to call Adrian because he was probably asleep, so I sent him a text

I didn't call since I figured you were probably sleeping in today. Guess what? I'm doing the All-Around. Hope you can watch! Talk later?

I rolled my eyes as I heard a throat clear.

"So why is George calling you?"

I turned around and looked at Jo.

"I don't need to answer that question" I told her.

I locked my phone and set it in my duffle bag. I turned away from her and just as I walked away she grabbed my arm.

"I was talking to you"

I laughed and looked at her.

"I don't owe you an explanation. If it really worries you, then why don't you ask George?" I asked.

I shook her hand off of my wrist and made my way out of the locker room. I kept to myself during warm up singing along/dancing to the songs being played. I smiled at my mom when I found her in the crowd. She and Enzo were sitting together, where as George was making his way over with a pass around his neck. I took a deep breath and looked for an empty seat.

"You thought you'd seen the last of me"

I smiled.

"I'll never get rid of you" I teased.

He chuckled and placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Good luck"

"Thank you" I replied.
