Ch. 49

Sophia's POV- April 2017

"If I score perfect 10's when you come to my meets, you might just have to make it to every home meet next season" I told Adrian.

He chuckled and gave me a squeeze.

"Thanks for coming" I said.

"Sorry it took this long"

I shook my head and stood on my toes to kiss him.

"There's no need to apologize. You were able to make time for the past two" I stated.

I then proceeded to hug his waist.

"Hello to you too"

As Adrian laughed, I rolled my eyes and turned to mom and Enzo.

"Are we waiting on one of the twins?" I wondered.

"We are not"

"Then let's go eat" I said.

And we did just that. Adrian was more quiet than usual, and Enzo noticed.

"Something on your mind boy?"

Glancing at me, Adrian slowly nodded and cleared his throat.

"Uh, yeah. There's actually something I want to bring up"

Enzo's eyes widened and Adrian noticed.

"Oh no, not like that. I love Soph very much, but marriage is something we haven't talked about. We're still too young for that"

Mom laughed as Enzo's shoulder's relaxed.

"What is it honey?"

About a week ago, Adrian asked me if I wanted to move in with him.  The Kings were not going to make playoffs, but the chance of him staying in LA permanently next season were incredibly high. I told him that he had to bring it up to my mom, and here he was bringing it up.

"I want Sophia to move in with me"

Mom nodded slowly.

"Well honey, it's her decision"

Adrian glanced at me and then back at my mom.

"It is, but it would be disrespectful if I didn't ask you" 

The look on Adrian's face was not a happy one when I told him he had to ask my mom. Yes I was 18 years old but that didn't mean anything. I still relied on my mom, and she had to have a say in this. He was certainly going to earn brownie points from mom for doing what I told him to do.

"This question is also being directed to you as well Lorenzo. You are the closest she has to a father figure"

Mom looked at Adrian and nodded.

"I don't see a problem with you two living together.

She pursed her lips, and Enzo continued.

"Your time with the Reign is probably over"

Adrian smiled, but failed to realize that she was about to cry.

"Not just yet, I'm eligible to play in the playoffs with them"

There was no way the Kings were going to send him down. It would be incredibly stupid of them  if they did. 

"Honey, what do you have to say?"

To be honest, it caught me a bit off guard to hear mom ask that.

"Do you want to live with Adrian?"

I looked at Adrian and then back at mom.

"I think this shouldn't be discussed over dinner" I admitted.
