Chapter 1 :(10 yrs. later) (Christina)
My door squeaked open behind me and a big body was on top of me. I immediately went into defense mode on the intruder and I Elbowed him in the stomach, the muffled groan telling me I got them and spun around ready to continue the fight but as I pushed the person against the wall I groaned "Walter!" Though my brother was 4 years older, we both knew I could beat him any day. Though i looked small, I was emotionally and physically very strong and i have never lost a word or fist fight in my life. I hate how everyone doubt me all the time because I am small or whoever their judgments labeled me as.
"That hurt that time, sis!" Walter complained to me
"You know better than to sneak up on me" I chided, rolling my eyes
"I was trying to give to a review in sneak attacks" he responded,
"That's your excuse every time" I reminded him as I let him up. I walked over to my desk, sitting down then twirling my swivel chair to face him. "So any luck finding a job today?" I asked, changing the subject, from Walter's often defeats.
"Yes actually" he answered, surprising me.
"Where?"
" a cupcake shop" I grinned at his reply "I'm going to be cleaning and doing dishes. ohh! And while i was out i picked up the papers you need to fill out for GHS." He informed me as he took the papers out of his bag
"Okay, ill fill them out." I agreed. Taking a deep breath in I took the papers from him. School started in one week, it was a 10 minute walk from our house. I decided that if I filled out the papers tonight i would be able to get my schedule tomorrow and have a chance to walk through my schedule before the first day. Ugh the first day of school, I shuddered at the thought of it.
"Ready for your lesson?" Walter asked, reminding me why I had wanted to see him in the first place. Every week, he helped me on fighting skills like, fist fighting, using a bow and arrow and gymnastic, gymnastics came in handy because Walter always told me it was important to be creative, but in lessons my passion in fighting was using the swords and daggers, it made me feel like the heroes in my favorite stories and not just one of the damsels in distress.
"Just gotta change" I replied, glancing down at my floppy white tee-shirt and navy sweat pants, which had been perfect for running errands, but now seemed to relaxed compared to the tight black tank top and pants I usually wore for my lessons. "I'll be down in 5, and please no more sneak attacks- I don't want you to get hurt before my lesson starts." He rolled his eyes like I could never hurt him.
As he left the room, I heard the slightest little bang against the window, even though I was sure it was just a twig, I turned around to just check out the window, for a second I didn't see anything, but then in the bottom corner I saw a face, no bigger than my thumb nail and what looked like tiny wings. By the time I blinked, the face was gone and there was no trace of it.
I quickly got dressed and hurried down stairs. The tiny face with its worried expression engraved in my brain. It had been tinted a tiny blue with a blue aura surrounding it. I was guessing it was feminine by the beautiful long, smooth, brown hair that layer like a piece of fabric around the beautiful face. The thing's eyes were un-portioned on its face, they were big bright blue disks compared to its petit nose and Barbie lips.
Walter ended the lesson early, telling me I was obviously distracted. I didn't argue though for once, walking quietly to my small room upstairs. I filled out the papers for my new school, it was just as boring as all the other times. For being a junior, I had done this way too many times and I was determined for this to be the last time. But as I promised myself this all I could see was the tiny face.
