He's Awake! - 26

Zoes pov

I swear I could feel something moving on my lap so I turned to look at joe. He was staring right back at me. I gasped and froze. He was awake! Was he ok? Did I wake him up? Joe struggled to sit up but he was still to weak. I still had my hand over my mouth in shock.

"Zoe? Are you ok?! What just happened?!" Alfie yelled through the vent ready for the risk of being heard. I blinked hard to make sure joe really was awake and I wasn't just imagining it.

"Y-yes I'm fine." I stuttered. "But something has happened,"

"What?!!! What's happened!" Another man spoke, I think jack.

"Zo *cough, cough* Z-zoe!" Joe struggled to say. I stroked his head calming him down.

"Shhhh, don't speak it won't do you any good. Alfie and Jack are in another room and we can speak through the vents." I calmly spoke to him. He was probably very confused but right now we really have to get out of here. Jack and Alfie had been screaming for us through the vent, they were obviously very worried.

"No, no it's a good thing!" I reassured them. "Joes woken up!" I heard them gasp then pause. Just as I did.

"That's amazing news is joe ok?" Alfie squealed.

"He is quite weak but I can give him most o my food and hopefully get his strengthened up." I said examining him.

Joes pov

Since I had woken up nothing had made sense. I don't remember anything before walking down the halls to my room. I don't know how long it had been or what happened to me. Zoe was talking to Alfie again but there was also another man. Zoe had told me it was jack. I tried to speak but I couldn't. I hurt everywhere, and I feel really light headed.

Jacks pov

When zoe said something had happened I got so scared joe died. In those few moments I knew that I had to change. I had to be more like Finn. Finn was perfect he did everything right, and he was so incredibly nice. Alfie and I were screaming through the vent trying to find out what happened. When zoe told us joe was ok. I felt a wave of relief come over my body and a weight lifted from my shoulders. My new life could begin. Zoe and Alfie were actually really nice people, that will be my first task. I want to become friends with them.

Alfies pov

Joe was awake! He was awake!! I was overjoyed. Jack and u started to celebrate with zoe. I could tell from the silence and Zoe's description that he was still very weak but at least he was awake. After a few minutes we started to settle down. And not until then had I realized how loud we had been. I shushed jack and listened for any noice. I could hear footsteps. I wasn't sure where from. Maybe in the vent outside the room. I don't know, but I could hear footsteps.

I am so sorry I have been updated to spaced out but I was visiting a friend during the break and then the first week of school was so busy but I am glad to say my schedule will hopefully remain normal until summer break!
