Its ok, they're gone - 27

Alfies pov

"Jack," I whispered " I can hear footsteps we have to stop talking to Zoe."

"But she will keep talking, she will think we are ignoring her!" Jack worried. 

"I know but we have too, if those footsteps are Louise's she will close off the vent." I reassured him. He nodded and we stayed quiet.

Zoe kept talking to us for awhile and she started yelling for us. I felt so bad but I could hear the creaking wood outside the door. Someone was definitively out there. Zoe had started to cry, i couldn't take it, I couldn't let her think we had left her, or something had happened to us.

I jumped into my hands and knees and started to crawl over to the vent, but before I could say anything jack had his hands over my mouth.

I started to fight him off my mouth, but he was strong and I was weak in that moment. Tears were already falling down my eye, but I leaned back against the bed and started crying along with zoe.

"Alfie!----" jack started to shout.

"Jack be quiet." I whispered.

Zoe has also heard him and started talking again.

"See what you've done!" I said with the same tone shaking my head.

"But we can be loud! The footsteps are gone, they ran off!!" He said with joy.

I perked up and stumbled over to the vent.

Zoe's pov

Alfie and jack had stopped talking tome and I got so scared something had happened. I screamed for them, but no response. I started crying, joe was sleeping on the bed and I had woken him up.

"Z-o-oe are y-ou-u o-kka--" he chocked.  I stoped him.

"joe go back to sleep, I'm fine. " I said tears pouring from my eyes.

He shook his head.

I nodded mine. He shook his head again but he was so weak and tired that he layed his head down on the pillow trying to keep his eyes open but they slowly dropped down. I jumped up and walked over to him. I stroked his head while he fell back asleep.

"Its ok joe, it's ok." I whispered into his ear.

Suddenly I heard jack. I ran back over to the vent and started shouting to them again. I heard them mumbling something, but I didn't know what about.

"Zoe?" And finally said.

"Alfie!" I squealed.

There was a sigh of relief, "zoe I love you sooo much, jut know that I won't ever leave you." He said I could tell he had been crying.

"Alfie I know, I love you too." I had a big smile on my face. But it soon disappeared realized I might not ever see Alfie again.

"Alfie what if we never see each other again?" I cry.

"I won't let that happen." He said confidently.

"Maybe I can crawl through these vents!" I tried pulling them off but it was to hard.

"They are sealed and locked. Don't worry Zoe, just hold on."
