Another chance (The Selection Fanfiction)

Chapter One

America's point of view:
He said it. He chose Kriss. I lost everything. I'm a stupid five, I must have told him. Stop it, America, you can't do anything now, he chose her, not you.
I lifted my head up to see him, to see how happy he is. I wanted to see his chocolate eyes for the last time, but when I saw them, my eyes started to tear, but I blinked them away not wanting him to see how weak l am, how broken I am, and I did the first thing that goes in my mind, I went to them while I'm putting my best fake smile and said "Congratulations for both of you. I'm so happy for you, Kriss. I wish you all the best." When I finished, I saw Maxon frozen in his place, so I smiled to him kindly and said "You did the best thing by choosing her. She will make you happy." It hurts, it hurts a lot, but I must continue this. "America" Kriss said. "Yes." I said while I'm looking at her.
"I'm sorry" she said, I looked in her eyes and asked "Why?" She looked in my eyes sadly and said "You know.... because he chose me." I laughed and said "You didn't choose, but he did, so don't be sorry, you love him, and he loves you." It's true, because if he truly loved me, he would listen to me when I wanted to explain. "Also" I said while I put my hand on her shoulder "Friends never say sorry to each other." She smiled and asked "So you're not angry." "No, I'm not, and I will never be." That's true, because she didn't do anything wrong to me.
"Good. I was afraid, but now I'm very happy that you're still be my friend." I smiled, and started to go, but then someone called "Lady America." And when I turned, I saw king Clarkson smiling in a way he will hurt his checks. "Yes" I asked. He smiled wickedly and said "You know something, I will thank my God every day and every night for returning to my son his mind before marrying you and do the worst thing in his life." This ass I want to kill him. "You're right Your Majesty." I laughed "God knows what will happen if I become a princess. The country will be on fire. But you were right when you said that Maxon and I can't be together because we are so different. And today proved to both of us that we don't love each other, at all." It's a lie, at least for me.
I looked at Maxon because he was listening to us, and when I saw his eyes, I saw the hurt. Good, at least he can feel what I'm feeling.
"America, can I speak with you?" Aspen asked. "Of course, Aspen."
"So you decided to return to him." Maxon spit coldly. I looked at him with disgust and glared "As if you care about who I 'll end up with. But for your knowledge Aspen doesn't love me, he loves someone else." "Like I will believe you." He glared at me with his glassy eyes. "I don't care if you believed me or not." I said sarcastically. I want to cry very badly.
"My lady, you must prepare yourself before leaving." Lucy said sadly.
"Ok. Lucy stay here and enjoy your day with Aspen. Please take care of him." She nodded. Then I turned to Aspen and demanded "Take care of her, and love her forever, or..." I laughed. "I will, Mer."
Then I left the room. Everything now is done. I lost. I lost him forever. The tears started to fall, and I let them.
When I reached my room, I found Celeste and Princess Nicoletta, and when they saw me they hugged me and they told me that everything will be ok. And I hoped so.
"Nick, I want to forget him. I want to forget everything. I hope it's a dream." I cried harder. "Shhh... you will. You'll come with me and you'll forget him. You'll live a happy life, and you'll never come back to Illea." And I believed every word she said.
After an hour, I was in the limo with Nick to go to the airport. But suddenly, in our way the limo crushed with a truck.
Everything happened very fast. I don't remember anything, but all I remember is the way that I gave in to the darkness.
