It was one o’clock when he walked in. He combed his fingers through his raven black hair, that had been messed up by the wind. His silver eyes scanned the small bookshop and when his eyes spotted me, he softly nodded as a way of saying hello. I smiled at him brightly, I simply couldn’t help it, he was just so beautiful. The man walked to one of the bookshelves, knowing exactly what book the look for, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. He had started reading it the day before.
The bookshop I worked didn’t only let people buy the books, we also let people read them. Because there wasn’t a library in Trost, people came to Smith’s bookshop. If people wanted to take books home, they had to buy them.
Levi was still searching, but he wouldn’t be able to find the book, because I had taken it from the shelf and placed it underneath the counter. Since the bookshop only had one copy of it left, and it was a rather popular book, I had decided to make sure that nobody but the beautiful stranger would take it.
“Can I ask you something?”
I looked up into his stormy eyes.
“Yes, sure, what can I help you with?” I said, smiling politely.
“The Perks of Being a Wallflower, do you still have it?”
I smiled and ducked, grabbing the book. The man looked at me in confusion when I handed the book to him.
“I saw you reading it yesterday, so I thought I would keep it here for you.”
“Thank you,” he said and looked at my nametag. “Eren.”
“You’re welcome, mr. -”
“Levi. Levi Ackerman.”
Finally, I knew his name.
Levi smiled and walked away with the book.
Levi Ackerman.
I repeated his name a couple of times in my head. It was a beautiful name, I wondered what it would sound if I moaned it. My own thoughts shocked me. I shook my head and pushed the thought away, forcing myself to go back to what I was doing.
At about three o’clock, the library was empty. Except for me and Levi. I wanted to talk to him, so I decided to bring him hot chocolate and sit with him. I walked towards him with with two cups in my hands. When I saw him, my heart skipped a beat. He had completely folded himself into the chair, book on his lap and head bowed down as far a possible. He was unconsciously trailing his finger over his lips. He was completely lost in a different world. He was so cute.
I placed the hot chocolate in front of me. He looked up, slightly confused about what was happening.
“I hope you like hot chocolate,” I said as I sat down next to him.
“Uhm, yeah, I do. But, I don’t have money.”
“That’s okay,” I said. “It’s free.”
Levi smiled and took a sip of the drink. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
It was silent for a while, it wasn’t awkward, but I wanted to talk. I wanted to have a conversation with the dark haired book lover.
“Y’know, you look really cute when you are reading.”
Levi blushed. “No, I don’t.”
I laughed. “Yes, you do. You really do.”
“Thank you.”
I smiled at him, and he smiled back, and once again it felt like my heart was on fire.
