The party was four days after that. In those four days in between, Levi was in the bookshop every second I was there too. After school, I got there as fast as I could, barely even saying goodbye to my friends before running out of the school building. Levi got there as soon as possible too, and to be honest, I barely did anything that was remotely close to my actual job. Most of the time I talked to Levi, or I watched him reading. Other times I would roll my eyes at Erwin when he made another weird and slightly inappropriate comment about the relationship Levi and I had.
When friday finally came, I was waiting for Levi to pick me up. I was sitting in my room, staring out if the window, waiting for him. At about nine o’clock, the time Levi had told me he would pick me up, a black Porsche turned around the corner. The car looked expensive, and I never realized who could be in the car, until it stopped in front of my house. The door on the driver’s side opened and a short figure got out of the car. I looked at Levi as he walked down the driveway. I heard the doorbell ring and before my parents could open it I bolted down the stairs.
“You’ve got a fucking Porsche?”
“Yes, a cayman to be precise. I’ve also got a Volvo and a Jeep. Why?”
I stared at him. “You really have too much money don’t you?”
Levi laughed. “Maybe. Maybe I just love cars.”
“But why three?”
Levi opened his mouth to answer, but I cut him off. “Y’know what, I probably don’t even want to know.”
That comment earned me another cute chuckle. “Well, if you don’t want to hear about my car collection, shall we go then?”
I nodded. I grabbed my jacket and yelled a goodbye to my parents, who, as I had told them to do, had been sitting in the living room the whole time. We walked to Levi’s car. And Levi, being the gentleman he was, opened the door for me.
We were silent the whole ride, we listened to some music and I looked the car in awe. After about twenty minutes, Levi parked his car in front of a big mansion.
“You’ve got millionaire friends, too?” I asked.
“Just one,” Levi laughed. “Petra’s parents are on a business trip, so she used the opportunity to throw a reunion party.”
We walked through the doors, into the house, and almost immediately through another pair of doors, into the yard. There was a huge pool that was surrounded by about a hundred people. Trying to make my way to a less packed spot, I accidently bumped into someone. The person I had walked into turned around.
“Eren?”
In front of me stood Erwin.
“What are you doing here?” Erwin asked in surprise.
“Levi,” I said and I pointed over my shoulder to where Levi was standing. “What are you doing here?”
“Hanji,” Levi said and he pointed over his shoulder.
At that moment, a voice that could only belong to Hanji Zoe shouted Levi’s name. A brown haired figure ran past me and tackled Levi in a hug.
“Jesus Christ, four eyes, you haven’t gotten any lighter. Get off me.”
Levi pushed Hanji away and got up.
“Long time no see,” Hanji said. “Who did you bring with you?”
Levi pointed at me. “Eren.”
Then he seemed to notice Erwin standing next to me, and Hanji noticed me standing next to Erwin. And I could honestly not tell who was more surprised.
