Chapter III

This morning is being chaotic, between writing all my notes in the computer and sending them to Mrs. Robison, my boss, I have to read the rest of my book for the next few hours, because I have to finish the article and send to print tomorrow afternoon. It sounds easy reading a book, but it's so much fucking noise in this damn office, that it's been really difficult to concentrate on what I'm reading. These people can't shut up for an hour, just for me to be able to finish the last twenty pages of the book, seriously! I look to Gemma and she seems so concentrate on what she is doing that it's pissing me off.

"Hey Mary!"

"Yeah" I say already looking at her.

"It's lunch time. Are you coming?"

"Yeah, wait a minute." I say grabbing my leather jacket and bag, following her to the elevator.

When we enter inside I release a long breath trying to calm myself down.

"Thank god, some silence. How can you be focused inside that office with all the damn noise? If you have a secret please tell me, I have to deliver my article tomorrow and I still have twenty pages of the book to read and I can't really concentrate with all that people shouting at each other." I say.

"Hey calm down. I will tell my secret because I like you. And believe me it's really hard for me to like people." She says smirking at me.

"So..."

"Earphones. I listen to music while I need to concentrate. It makes wonders, believe me." She explains.

"Really!! That's it. Thank you for telling me. I'm gonna try it when we get back."

When we step out of the elevator, Olive is already waiting for us on the main entrance. We make our way to the caffe and get a table, the smell inside is so good that my belly starts doing weird noises of hunger since I didn't had time to have a snack in the morning. I order fish and chips just like Olive and Gemma, they said it was the best fish and chips of all England, so I will give it a try.

"So, how has it been your day so far, Mary?" Olive asks me.

"Stressful and very laud." I say while I grab a chip with my fingers to eat.

"She doesn't take well the noise in the office like me, Olive." Says Gemma smiling.

"Well it's something you have to get used to. That floor is always like this." Olive says while cutting her fish.

"I already told her my secret Olive, I think she is saved from the savages of the office." Gemma says laughing loudly.

"You told her! Well congratulations Mary, no one was able to be friends with Gemma so fast!" Olive says directing a dirty smile to Gemma.

"I'm glad she did, or else I would be murdering every person in that fucking office." I say laughing and them joining me.

"Well we as good persons we are, we have to give you some warnings about some people at work." Olive tells me.

"First we have Jess, she is the office whore, believe me, she slept with almost every guy working there, including interns. And she is a total bitch. So please let me know if she intimidate you or says something rude to you. I've been craving so much to throw a punch in her face since I start working at the magazine. She thinks she is so important just because she is Robison's personal assistant. Jesus, it's not even a good job and she pretends she is serving the fucking Queen." Gemma says trying to remain calm talking about this girl. Jesus, she must really be a bitch, for making Gemma feel like this about her.

"Then there is James, he is the male version of Jess. He fucked every girl working there, besides me, Gemma and you, of course. He is very insisting on trying to get you to go on dates, makes very inappropriate remarks and he can get a little too touchy sometimes. So when he tries something with you be careful and try not be alone with him, please." Says Olive, concern showing all over her face.
