Chapter 35

Luke's POV:

We rush Melissa to the hospital and the nurses take her right in. "I can't believe I caused this." I sob. "Shut up Luke." Ashton snaps. "I'm sorry Ashton. I would it rather be me than her." I say as I sob harder. "I'd rather it be neither one of you." Ashton sighs. I get up and walk back and forth waiting for a response from the doctors. "Luke calm down." Michael says. "I can't! I made the one I love almost kill herself. Unless she is dead!" I sob. I couldn't take it any more. I sat down and cried more. "Luke everything will be ok." Calum tries to calm me down. "And with it's not Cal." I say. "Then I don't know. But let's think positive not negative." Calum responds. “Ok. I’m gonna sleep. Tell me when the doctors come in.” I say as I fall asleep. ~8 Hours Later~ “LUKE WAKE UP!” Michael yells as I suddenly wake up. “WHAT!?” I snap. I open my eyes and remember that we’re at the hospital. I thought yesterday was a dream. “They have an update on Melissa, we didn’t wanna hear it without you.” Calum says. “Ok.” I say as Ashton helps me up. We walk to her room and the door is closed. We knock and a doctor comes out and closes the door behind him. “Are you here for Miss. Melissa Irwin?” The doctor asks. “Yes we are.” We say in sync. “Ok. Well….” The doctor starts. He has tears welling in his eyes. “We tried everything, but she’s gone. I’m so sorry.” The doctor says. I fall to my knees and sob and yell at myself. ‘WHY COULDN’T HAVE BEEN ME!? I FUCKED MY WHOLE LIFE UP!” I screamed. The boys sob and help me up. “I’m sorry Ashton.” I say. “No Luke. Shut the fuck up. You made my little sister kill herself. I can never forgive you for this.” Ashton says as he opens the door where Melissa’s body is. “Let him calm down. He’ll be fine.” Calum says as he walks in with Michael following behind. I might as well walk in too. I walk in to see Melissa’s limb, lifeless body there. I cry again and walk to her. I sit on the hospital bed and hold her hand. “I’m sorry for this. I didn’t mean to cause you pain. I’m a fuck up. I love you forever and always. No one could ever replace you.” I say as I kiss her forehead. “You made me the happiest man that ever walked the Earth. If I could, I would replay every moment I spent with you. If I had one wish, my wish would to have you back. I never thought there was such a thing that’s called a magical true love’s kiss, but your kiss proved it wrong. You have a magical kiss Melissa. When I met you I thought you were an angel sent down from Heaven. Once again I love you.” I add as I kiss her lips. I pull away and I heard noises coming from her and she twitched. Her eyes then open she says, “You have a magical kiss too Luke……”
