Arya awoke to the sun peeking through the curtains of her window. She blinked and suddenly burst up as she remembered what had happened. I'm alive! A pause. Devonshire rescued me...
Devonshire rescued me!
But yet... Her neck was throbbing... She groaned, touching her tender neck.
Guilt suddenly filled her belly. She had to do something. She had to thank him... She'd been so distant... she had to show gratitude to him.
She silently slid off her bed, and tip-toed to the door. It creaked open as she walked out and headed toward the Lord's chamber. The house was filled with the golden aura of sun and Arya couldn't help but gawk at the beauty. She only saw the house filled with the artificial light of the night; she never saw its natural beauty during the day.
Arya crept towards his room, the silent house following her moves with periodical creaks and groans. She finally came upon his door. With a gulp, she tested the handle.... It twisted. She pushed a little forward... The door opened.
She stepped inside, taking in the interior of the Vampire Lord's room.
Dark curtains covered the window with a sliver of light illuminating the room. A huge bed lay against the wall on the left, its dark covers concealing a body. It room was simple. A desk, a wardrobe, a bathroom, a fireplace, and a lush white carpet at the edge of the bed.
A picture was covered with a sheet on the mantle of the fireplace, and Arya curiously crept toward it.
"Arya." A deep voice huskily called her from the bed.
She froze.
"Arya... I know its you." The sleepy voice said.
Arya turned very slowly toward the voice.
"Come here." It commanded.
Arya's bare feet took their time in getting her closer to the Vampire Lord. "Did I wake you, my lord?" She asked quietly, a shyness creeping over.
"No." The reply was blunt. "Whats wrong?"
Arya blushed, realizing he thought that she came because of danger.
"Oh! Uh... nothing, my lord."
Devonshire finally revealed himself by sitting up against his elbows. He raised an eyebrow, "Then why did you come?" The sheets billowed down his body, revealing his very toned chest. Arya's face heated even more as she looked at the ground.
"I-I-I-I just wanted to th-thank you m-my lord." She stammered, feeling embarrassment drown her.
"I do wish you stop calling me that, Arya."
Arya look up to see the Lord looking up at her very intently. "Call me Zadimus instead..." He said off-handledly. "We are to be married... I figured you should know my name."
Arya blinked and blushed even harder. "Okay my lord."
"Arya."
"I meant Zadimus!" She yelped, her eyes snapping to the ground. Zadimus... strong name.
A light scoff of amusement came from him. His tone returned to his normal serious manner, "Why are you thanking me?"
Arya finally found her courage, "For saving me from that other vampire."
His eyes flashed with an emotion. He bowed his head, "No worries."
Arya nodded as an awkward silence filled the room. She turned and began toward the door.
