undertale- the beginning

Sans POV.

I sat at the desk across the room from gaster looking at the computer screen. Its late and I'm really tired. My eyelids sagged as I leaned on the table and propped my head up with my hands. I was not really doing any work and it was impossible to focus on the screen in front of me. So I slowly closed my eyes and fell asleep. *slam* Gaster's fists slammed against the desk and my eyes shot open with the loud noise. "Sans, GET UP OFF YOUR LAZY ASS." I jumped up at the sudden movement and turned to face gaster. His face was one of pure rage and I began to shake at the hideous sight. *ping* my body froze and I looked down at my now blue soul. I was thrown across the lab and slammed into the wall with a loud thud. As I collapsed to the floor my vision began to fade at the corners and everything looked fuzzy. 0.9 HP. Bones began hurdling towards me across the floor but there was no way I could dodge them in time. They smashed into my ribs and and I screamed. The pain was excruciating. I wheezed and coughed up determination. 0.5 HP. I stood up shakily and looked at gaster with fear, his eyes showed no emotion other then pleasure and I began to feel outraged. this man was not my father, this was a monster. He smiled a sickening smile and summoned more bones. As they whistled through the air I teleported behind him then used blue magic to grab his soul. His feet lifted off the ground and he looked at me shocked. I didn't respond I simply flung him into the wall. "Dad, stop please. I don't want to hurt you." He simply laughed back insanely. "You think you can stop me, hilarious. We both know how pathetic you are. You couldn't even save your own mother." at that moment I realised that gaster was twisted and there was no way to help him so the battle continued.

A gaster blaster shot at me and I dogged swiftly as it broke the wall behind me and made a hole. The blast was so powerful that it knocked me into broken glass and cut my hands and my back. 0.1 HP. Looking through the hole I could see that it was a huge drop into the core. The back magic swirled like an endless thick blanket of nothingness. I looked back at gaster and realised that there was no way I could defeat him with the state I was in so I did the only thing I could and picked him up with blue magic. Tears began cascading down my cheek bone as I dropped him into the core. His screams echoed through the lab and I stumbled backwards in pain and anguish. How could I have just killed my own father. What have I done? I sunk to the floor and wrapped my arms around my knees while rocking back and forth gently, trying to comfort myself. I screamed into my hands and began sobbing uncontrollably. Why did this have to happen? I Began to hyperventilate until I passed out.

I woke up in a... Bed? What happened? Why can't I remember what happened? My mind hurt and my body was aching. Not to mention I had a throbbing headache. I looked around the poorly lit room which looked like a lab. Why did it seem so familiar? A yellow dinosaur with a white lab coat yelped when she saw me and began to stutter nervously. "G-goodness your a-a-awake. Um o-ok w-why d-d-dont you tell me your n-name." She began fiddling with her fingers and was looked at the ground. "I'm ... Sans." I replyed slowly. "O-o-ok well i-iim d-d-doctor alphys b-but you can just call me alphys. I-if you like." I smiled at her. "Sure thing. But how did I get here, where am I and why am I like this?" I said gesturing to my broken bones. "O-oh right, w-well i-i found y-you l-like t-t-this on the f-f-floor p-passed out, you w-w-were in a c-c-coma S-so I took c-care of y-you. I-if you don't m-mind me a-asking, why are y-y-you injured so b-badly? Did s m t ng   h a p p n t t o y y o  u" my vision began to fade and alphys's voice became broken and impossible to listen to. I fell back onto my back as an image began to form in front of me. It was a skeleton wearing a black lab coat. He had two cracks one above and one under his eyes. I recognised him and felt a strange urge to hug him. Then I remembered. "Gas.. Dad. I yelled his name at him and tried to reach him, tried to tell him that I was sorry but my limb's were being held down by a black substance. I was pulled down into the black 'floor' as back goop filled my skull. It was hot and painful, and felt like it was ripping me apart from the inside. I yelled and began to scream while thrashing my arms and legs around in desperation to free myself.

My eyes snapped open and I began to breath uncontrollably. My entire body was shaking. An arm grabbed my hand gently and I looked up to see alphys who was shaking as well. " o-o-oh thank g-goodness y-y-your ok. I w-w-was really w-worried. You l-looked like y-y-you where h-having a p-p-panic a-attack." She handed me a glass of water which I gulped down quickly. "Thanks" I said quietly. "S-sso um... W-w-why did y-you h-h-have a p-p-panic attack?" I shrugged my shoulders. "I cant remember what happened sorry but earlier you said I had been in a coma, how long was I like this." "O-oh well you've b-b-been in a c-c-coma for about a w-week." I gasped then remembered. " omg papyrus, he must be so worried. " "i-ive seen papyrus, h-h-he was l-looking for you so I e-e-explained the situation t-t-to him." I pulled the covers off myself and slid my legs out till my feet met the cold floor. I propped myself up using the bed post as support. "Thanks for helping me out alphys but I need to get going, my brothers probably very worried so I'll talk to you later. Bye." Then I snapped my fingers and teleported into my room straight onto my bed. I put my hands on top of my face and sighed. Something wasn't right, gaster was the royal scientist yet it seemed that everyone had forgotten him, including me when I first woke up. I remembered him now but my memory's of him are still quite fuzzy. I gave up trying to figure it out and went downstairs to get something to eat. As I began to walk down the stairs papyrus came out of his room and froze when he saw me. "SANS?" He looked astonished for a moment but then pulled me in for a bone crushing hug. "OH SANS I WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU, WHAT HAPPENED?" after he saw the pained look on my face he added. "NEVER MIND, YOU CAN TELL ME LATER FOR NOW I THINK YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO BED, YOU LOOK AWFUL." And with that he picked me up and plopped me down onto bed.
