One day in Gym class, boys were playing basketball and the girls were playing volleyball. I noticed Helena on one of the benches and she was scribbling on her notebook. She rarely had a pen and any paper in hand. One girl, Cathy, accidentally hit her head with the volleyball. All girls froze and Cathy apologized right away. Helena looked up from her notebook, picked up the ball from the floor and threw it at Cathy. It must be hard because Cathy caught the ball, fell on the floor and slide a few feet away. She was crying in pain and her friends helped her up. Why did she have to do that? I mean, Cathy already apologized. Cathy’s friends took her to the clinic and Helena went back to scribbling like nothing happened.

I couldn’t get this girl. If she’s angry with someone or something, she shouldn’t take it on someone else. She always do these things, being caught in a fight or beating someone up. And all for just simple reasons. The school was afraid of her now and no one dared speak to her. “She’s impossible. I mean, how can a girl do stuff like that? She’s really strong and tough. Even the teachers are afraid of her.” I heard one of the boys commented. She suddenly looked up again and looked the boy straight in the eyes. Maybe she had bionic ears too.

He started to back up and whispered, “Sorry.” Helena stood up and walked towards him.

“Do you have a problem with me, pig face?” She’s just like five feet five inches tall, but she sounded like she’s seven feet tall. I decided to interrupt.

“Helena, please calm down. He already apologized. Let it go.” And that’s how I met her fist.
