I’ve kept myself busy the entire vacation. I took a part-time job on the town’s ice cream shop. I might be exhausted everyday because the dreams never stopped. I saw Percy, Annabeth and Helena as they trained in camp. I saw them played Capture the Flag and the Chariot Race. I saw how happy Helena was with her siblings. I missed her more everyday but I didn’t know if she felt the same.
One night, I dreamt of Helena again. She’s under a tree together with Annabeth. She sharpened her spear while Annabeth read a book. The scene shifted to Percy and another boy walking near the beach. The boy had the same hair and eyes as Helena’s, he might be her brother. The scenes kept shifting to other campers on patrol, the children of Ares were ready for the monster they’ve been waiting for. Everybody was trained because they were not sure who among the children was in the prophecy.
I saw something moved from afar and they have not noticed it yet. It looked like a huge snake with plate-like scales- a dragon! I woke up, beads of sweat were on my face. I hoped they could see what kind of monster they were going to face. If only I knew a way to contact them at Camp, I would warn them. I prayed to the Olympic Gods to guide their children in this battle.
Three weeks had passed since vacation ended. Helena never came back. I was hoping one day she would be seating on her chair by the window on our English class or see her torturing bullies on the school grounds. I still saw her in my dreams, but they were from the times before she went to camp- her first day at Olympic High, the day she punched me in the eye, the incident in the library and the Founder’s Ball.
I dreamt of the human on fire again. I was on the same forest and was standing in front of the human on fire. When the creature touched my cheek, it felt warm. I held the creature’s hand and saw the fire extinguished. The fire was a ball on the other hand of the creature. I looked in front of me and saw Helena.
