Sometime before chapter 6. Chrom

I groaned loudly and face planted onto my cot. "How long must this work be?"

"Only time will tell, dear," Anna sat down next to me and began to rub my back.

I cracked open an eye to look at her. She was giving me that signature kind smile of hers that always made me calm down.

Anna was helping me finish up some battle plans and paperwork late into the night, and we are not even close to done with it.

I smiled warmly at her and sat back up, drawing her closer to me and embracing her tightly. "This is the last all-nighter we will ever pull," I said. "We cannot go on without sleep forever."

"Well, I'm afraid that may be inevitable, Chrom," Anna breathed. "This war is dragging on and on. And the more it grows, the more work there is."

I tried to blink away the exhaustion in my eyes, and I held Anna tighter, falling back into the pillows and taking her with me. "We've been trying to get all of it done earlier but that never works out!" I complained. "You and I are always busy, and there are battles left and right! I'm sick of it all!"

Anna laughed and threaded her hand through my hair. "I know, I want it to end too. You seem a bit more reluctant to battle than when we first met, though. Any particular reason?" she asked.

I opened an eye and nuzzled her once more. "Marriage makes you change the way you think," I replied. "I want to do anything to keep my future bride out of danger."

Anna stayed silent for a while, then sighed. "I know..." she whispered. "I would do anything to keep you safe, too..."

"I'm glad you feel the same way," I smiled. "I'll do anything in my power to keep you, and our kingdom safe."

Anna giggled nervously and hugged my neck. "Our kingdom..." she whispered. "Still haven't gotten over the fact that I'm going to be a princess..." She smiled and hugged me tighter. "But...I'll take on any title as long as I still get the title of being your wife."

My heart fluttered, and a huge grin painted its way across my face. She's such a gift... What did I do to deserve such an amazing woman like her? "I'm glad that I'm not causing you too much anxiety about your future title. The only ones that matter is the ones given to us by the priest at the altar," I murmured before kissing her ear. "The title is not that big, mind you. I'm only a prince, not a king. If I were, your responsibilities would be a lot more extensive. Not that that'll ever happen!"

Anna hummed in agreement. "I know... It's still going to be fun to be able to help you with all your royal duties..." she murmured. "Sometimes, even the harshest of times can be solved by some good company."

"Indeed..."

I held her in my arms for what seemed like forever, until a small yawn escaped her lips. "Are you tired? We should get some sleep." I suggested.

Anna yawned once more and snuggled up to me. "Good idea... Goodnight..." Her breathing became more even, a sign that showed that she was already on her way to sleep.

I rolled my eyes and stretched out my arm to pull the blanket over us. "Goodnight, Anna..." I kissed the top of her head. "Thank you for keeping me company..."

______________

It's really late and I have nothing to say. Fluffy fluff is fluff. Next time we'll have angst. I'm so tired.
