Sometime before chapter 6. Anna

"I'd like to plant a garden, someday."

"Hmm? Would you, now?" Chrom opened one eye to look at me. "What brings this on?" he asked, gently swinging our arms back and forth as we walk through the frost and snow painted courtyard.

I nodded at my fiancé and closed my eyes, inhaling a breath of the winter air. "Yeah. Not a big one; just one big enough so I can tend to it and call it my own." I said.

Chrom mumbled something and squeezed my hand. "I see," he breathed. "Well, your wish is my command, my princess. I'm sure the gardeners will be happy to give you a small plot of land to grow a garden once we're married."

I smiled up at him. "Thank you, love," I stood up on my tip-toes to kiss his cheek. "When do you think that will be?"

Chrom rubbed his chin and pondered the question. "Well...as soon as the war is over, I guess," he replied, his breath coming out as fog. "If given a choice, I'd definitely make it sooner. But this damned war is keeping us from doing that."

I nodded and rested against him. "I see..." I murmured. "Can we not talk about this? The more we speak of it, the more my heart longs for us to be married."

"...I know..." Chrom sighed. "I love you so much, you know that, right?"

I turned my face sheepishly into my palm and looked to the ground. "I know! I-I love you, too! Geez! What's gotten into you?!" I squealed.

Chrom laughed and kissed the top of my head. "I just love you, must I have a reason to say so?" he asked. "So, what would you like to plant in your garden?"

I lifted my hand to my temple and thought for a moment. "Hmm...Good question..." I pondered. "Well, maybe I can plant some herbs! I always have a use for those."

Chrom nodded and stared off. "That's true...you're always in need of a herb concoction of some sort... Anything else?" he asked.

I closed my eyes and let Chrom be my eyes as he led us down the path. "Maybe some flowers...add some colors to it..."

I continue to babble on about my ideas for my garden. Chrom doesn't seem to mind my rambling. If anything, he enjoys hearing me talk about such happiness.

After a few minutes, Chrom abruptly stopped at a bush and plucked a small, red flower from it. "Here," he said, placing the flower in my hair. "This is a Kaffir Lily. They grow in the winter."

I blushed once more and shifted my gaze to the ground. "T-thank you...it's beautiful... How do you know what flower this is?" I asked.

Chrom blushed and brushed my hair out of my eyes. "Well, my mother liked gardening, and I would often accompany her on her walks when I was a kid. She always told me about the plants and flowers...it's one of the fond memories of my childhood, I guess the knowledge kinda stuck..." he said.

I saw the sadness in his eyes and reached up to hold his face in my palm. "...Chrom..."

He shook his head and smiled at me. "Ah...let's not get somber. Let's keep talking about this garden idea," he suggested.

I stared off as he tugged at my arm, wanting me to continue walking. Chrom...I hope that one day, I'll be able to give you as happy memories as your mother did...
