Recap:
"Well then i'll make it quick. I don't like this relationship we have and I was going to tell you that it reminds me of a past relationship, you've done nothing but hurt me emotionally and physically. I do admit I am partially to blame for my attitude but the way you treated me is unacceptable. " Tears began streaming down my face and I stood up and continued, "I, Elena Winter Collins, reject you, Alpha Zack Mason, as my mate."
The words stabbed through me like a knife plunging through my heart. My heart was ripping to shreds. The mate bond was detaching from every inch of my body. It was tearing me apart. My heart was pounding a thousand times a minute. My heart was collapsing. I couldn't even think. My mind was overwhelmed by a million different things at once. I didn't even think, I just ran. I ran as fast as i could, out the door and shifted running out of the pack and wherever my paws took me.
Jess cut me off completely and purposely made me feel the pain of a thousand knives being stabbed into my chest. I kept running and running until my insides were collapsing but my adrenaline was pumping fast enough to keep me going for what felt like forever. I didn't want to stop running. I couldn't stop running. Not only had I given up helping the pack the moon goddess put me in, but I had no connections with anybody I knew. I was completely alone and if I shifted back I'd be naked in the middle of the woods. In this state I didn't care, my mind was rushing in a million different directions. I don't even know what I wanted to do, I had no idea what was going to happen with everything, and I had no idea where I was.
I kept running for what seemed like hours, the sun was setting and my paws still continued to slam against the mud. Suddenly, my vision was hallucinating and the trees were shifting around and moving. My legs were giving in to what seemed like the ground shaking as if the worst earthquake was happening beneath me. My heart was pounding with a white-hot burning sensation. The ground felt like it was about to swallow me whole. That was until my vision was consumed by the darkness and i fell unconscious and my heavy body collapsed with a thud onto cold, hard ground.

I woke up to a delightful scent filling my nostrils. I immediately shot up and evaluated my surroundings. I was fully clothed, laying on a soft bamboo bed nearly a foot off the ground. The cover on top of me was light and silky, as if i wasn't even covered. The room smelt of lavender and freshly washed laundry. The room was decorated with Native heritage like paintings. The light from the sun was beaming thought the windows. This house had a very welcoming feel to it. Getting up off the bed, I made my way to the door. Slowly opening the door, I peaked through the crack of the door. Children's laughter could be heard throughout the house. Children ran past the door chasing each other. A lady who looked to be in her late 40s ran after the children when she stopped right in front of the door and smiled. I opened the door to get a better look at her. She was a beautiful lady. She had wrinkles around her eyes, mouth and the linings of her nose, but she had a youthful face and presence. Her face was glowing with beauty when she smiled. Her hair was long, white, and put back.
"Good morning, how are you feeling?" She greeted me with a warm smile as if she's known me for a lifetime.
I was confused at first, i wasn't sure how i should respond being i just woke up in her house, fully clothed. Not that i minded being in fresh new clothes.
Before i could gather my words to respond she said, "My name is Darcy, I found you yesterday night near my house. You were passed out and your heartbeat was abnormal. I brought you inside and thankfully your heart rate calmed down."
