Chapter 6

Leo

When I woke up I groaned and thought only thirteen more days until Gaia rises.

We had been getting used to Percy and Annabeth being on board again, but it was different. Anyone could tell you that much.

Leo could already tell that today wasn’t going to be a good day based on the dream that he had last night. Calypso, his one kryptonite. The idea of him being even remotely close to superman made a smile spread across his face. Superman that was one of Jason’s nicknames. He wondered if the others could call him the human torch. Because then he could start saying “Flame on.” and nobody would look at him funny.

What if we all had matching outfits corresponding with our powers he thought. Now that was laughable, he imagined Frank fighting in a skintight suit with random animal print on it and chuckled to himself. Wait then what would my suit look like? Suddenly his mind was hijacked by a flashback from calypso’s island.

. . .

He was walking with her across the beach; they had finished packing for Leo’s journey, which would undoubtedly happen tomorrow. He remembered trying to soak in the last few moments he would have with her before he returned to his quest. Calypso said his name and that snapped him back to the moment.

She said “I have something for you, come with me into my cave”, briefly taking a second to stare into his light brown eyes.

As they walked he could tell she was trying to soak in all his features, for what would probably be the last time. His curly brown mop of hair bounced on his head as they started towards her cave. Next she moved down to his face. She placed he hand gently on the base of his chin while her other hand coursed his messy hair. He realized what was going to happen a split second before it did. When her soft lips collided with his, he knew that it was the best moment in his life.

When they finally pulled apart she danced over to her loom and presented him with the best gift he could’ve got. It was his outfit, his green faded army jacket, simple white cotton t-shirt, and a pair of dark denim jeans. He thought it was amazing until she had said that the outfit was also completely fireproof, then it had become super amazing.

. . .

When he left his room he masked his depression with a fake smile and on the way to the mess hall he even came up with a few jokes to solidify his act. Although he acted goofy and funny all the time, he figured that he had lost a certain glint in his eyes or something. Because whenever Piper looked at him her face contorted to show concern. Right now all he needed was calypso, but he had vowed not to let the others know about her. Even if the act was wearing him down he would have to keep it up.

He walked into the mess room and was faced by three depressed looking people. He took a second to prepare himself then started.

“Hey you guys look like your favorite character in The Walking Dead died.”

Jason took this as a chance the compose himself and join in with the fun by saying, “ Nah Glen’s still alive and that’s good enough for me.”

Hazel look really confused and so did Frank. Leo began to wonder if they even watched T.V and was about to ask when a scream broke the early morning silence.

The time for jokes was over; everyone grabbed their weapons and began to run toward the deck to see what had happened. As they ran through the hall they met up with an exhausted looking Percy.

Leo couldn’t help but notice a deep looking scratch protruding from Percy’s neck down to who knows where. He began to wonder when he had gotten that. It looked down right painful.

Jason was the first one out on deck, probably because Piper was on watch. Everyone else fell into step behind him. Jason was followed closely Percy, Hazel, then Frank, and finally Leo.

Dang he thought to himself I’m so much out of shape that even Hazel can beat me in a sprint. He made a brief mental note to start getting back in shape, hopefully before the world ends.

Now was definitely not the time for jokes he scolded, when he saw what the others were fighting against.

He reached into his tool belt and summoned two; five pound hammers and got to work.

I’m not very good at writing Leo chapters, trust me, I know. Hopefully you guys enjoyed it.  Hopefully I’ll be posting again tomorrow so be on the look out. Lastly I would like to dedicate this chapter to percabeth4eva44 for commenting. Remember if you comment you get a dedication.
