LAURA
Seeing Zara like this hurts Laura. She guiltily leaves the building and watches as Michael opens the door for her and gives her a kiss.
She buckles up, preoccupied, as Michael gets into the driver's seat. "You alright?" He asks her affectionately, seeing the troubled lines on her face.
She clears her throat, gets Zara out of head and smiles. "Yeah. I missed you." She leans over to kiss him.
"Me too," he whispers against her cheek as they break away.
"Where are we going?" Laura asks curiously, watching Michael's face light up with a smile.
He tucks her soft hair behind her ear, and takes her hand. "You'll see." He says, as they drive off, their hands still intertwined. They drive out of campus, and across Breeburn bridge. He turns the car off road for a few minutes and then stops. "Come on."
Laura smiles and gets out of the car watching Michael get a mat and a basket from the trunk.
He lays the mat down, puts the basket on it and then leads Laura to sit down.
"Oh Michael," Laura breathes, watching him light a dim solar lamp beside their picnic set up. "This is amazing."
Michael kisses her and opens the basket inside which there is pizza, brownies and an entire tin of grapes, Laura's favourite fruit."Shall we?" Michael whispers, reaching for the food, but Laura stops him midway with a kiss so strong, he falls backwards. She puts her elbow on his chest, looks at his handsome face and smiles, watching the taken aback expression on his face.
And before he can recover, she kisses him again.
