You Can Call Me Jay

Clarissa's Pov

" And that why it was very important to create the Vampire Counsel." Said James after a very long boring speech about the birth of the Vampire Counsel. 

"So, the main objective was to make the original vampires to go extinct?"

"Yes, as I said before the originals were very dangerous. They were killing humans left from right and vampires. We needed the Counsel to create the human slave program and to get rid of those pesky vampires."

"But, why are you guys trying to create an even stronger species?"

"That my dear, I can't tell you. Only the high Counsel members can know. The rest of them just do what we ask them to. Now follow me this way, I am bringing you to my office." 

We approach the big red wood doors and he pushes them open. A decent size room comes into my view. There are a lot of books on bookshelf's the surround the entire room. But why does he need an office? He is never here from what I have observed. 

"Why do you need an office?" I asked him with a puzzled look. 

"Well I don't want to bring me work with me home. I keep all the dirty work here so I can go home and relax like most people."

"Well James you are definitely not like most people." I said to him in a sarcastic voice. 

He threw back his head and chuckled. Holding his stomach as if it were about to fall right out. 

"Oh dear, please call me Jay. A vamp like you sure deserves it." 

"You think people calling you Jay is a privilege?" 

"Yes. I am the high Counsel member and for your claryfication, see what I did there, that means I am on the tippy top of the triangle. " He said as he got closer to me.

"Hey, no need to Jay walk into my space." I shot back at him. If he can make puns about my name I will definitely make some about his. 

"Yep. You definitely deserved the right to call me Jay."

After another long talk about nonsense, James finally let me go back to my room. I take a quick glance at my clock and see that it is 9 pm. How was I suppose to make sure that my plan of escape will work? With James being around he will definitely know something is up. Maybe I can find more blood bags and sneak them down there to make sure they are ready for waiting one more night or however long it takes for James to leave. How was I going to get enough blood to them without making it suspicious?

"Knock Knock." Said Hannah as she walked in. "You have another big day tomorrow and need to fuel up. James told me to bring this to you." She slid a cooler across the floor to me. "He wants you to drink all of it. 

"Ok Hannah. Thank you,"

"Yep!" She said as she walked back out of my room. Well now I know how to give them a lot of blood without it being suspicious.  

I waited until it was around 2 in the morning. I wonder why the Counsel sleeps at night and is up and about during the day. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Anyways, I put two blood bags on my bed so I could drink something and I cautiously brought the rest down to Magda and Chris.  

"Guy, the bad news is... We can't break out tonight. But, I do have more blood for you."

"Wait! Why can't we get out tonight?" Chris panicked. 

"Because it's too risky. James is here and I can sure tell you that would be very challenging to escape him." 

"Oh no. Not James. He is a very clever young man. Clarissa, please do not get on his bad side." Magda said concerned. 

"Well you wont have to worry about that. He told me to call him Jay."

Magda gasped really loudly. "Oh Clarissa, you have to be very careful. That means he likes you, more than he should. One simple wrong move could make him kill you instantly. I've seen it. There was a boy that got far in the transformation process and James was very intrigued by him. They were like brothers. But one day Mathias who was the young boy figured out what James was doing and knew wrong and that there shouldn't be a revised version of the originals. When Mathias tried to escape, James he.. he ripped out Mathias heart instantly without hesitation. It is easy for James to kill someone he doesn't like but it is way easier for him to kill someone that he does like because if they do something bad, than he gets angry for letting them in and he snaps." 

"Ok so the sooner we get out of here the better." 

" Clarissa, us escaping doesn't mean that James wont come hunting us down. Hunting you down." 

"Well I will take care of it don't worry. In the mean time, drink up. You guys will need to be strong. I got to get back upstairs before I get caught."

I hustled back upstairs before anyone was alert. I made it a couple feet away from the door when.

"Clarissa? What are you doing up at this hour? And why are you carrying that cooler" James said. 

Keeping my calm I replied. " I finished all of my blood bags and I was in the need of more. The cooler would make it easier for me to carry all of them." 

"Oh Clarissa, you could have just gotten Hannah to get it for you. Allow me." 

"No its fine."  I said a little too late. He already grabbed the cooler and headed for the kitchen. I followed behind him. He opened the fridge and put 10 bags of blood in the cooler. 

"Here. I will carry this up to your room for you." 

"Ok," I said. Don't need him to be cautious about anything. 

We walked up the stairs to my room. We came into a halt before I went into my room. 

"Now get your rest Clarissa. Tomorrow is a day that you do not want to be caught off guard. Don't disappoint me." He handed the cooler over to me. 

"I'll try not to," I told him.

Now this was a nail biter. Sorry I would have updated sooner but school is being a pain and I started drivers ed. Spring break is only two weeks away though. And sorry if there are spelling mistakes, I didn't go through to make sure.
