Eden

"I broke through!"

My shout of excitement was short lived as I realized I was back in the dim lit darkness with Areli whose eyes held a semblance of sympathy and empathy within them yet he said nothing, just allowed the depressing situation to fester inside of my mind.

"...... He isn't going to run.... is he?" Areli didn't answer my question, he knew he didn't have to. After all, he was my wolf and knew Mason just as I did.

"Areli, Mason is my protector isn't he?" Sharp sapphire eyes stared at me unrelenting with no doubt.

"Yes." The honey gold of his eyelids fur closed over the harsh blues and I resigned to the fact that Artemis and Seranas would win and I would be nothing but peoples pawn for the duration of my life.

Only a miracle would keep this tragic fate from happening and miracles cared nothing for me.

"Eden, are you alright?" I was concerned, my heart ached at the pure anguish that swept her tone earlier but the Eden sitting in front of me now with the wide eyes seemed more confused than frightened and I just couldn't leave her to be alone like that.

"Um... I-I don't know Mason, that was weird." Mumbling to herself more than actually answering, Eden just kept her gaze on her hands which were interwoven together. Gently taking the shaking hands into my own, I called her name softly until she was looking at me.

"It's okay Eden, I'm here so don't worry." I smiled in hope of easing whatever was stressing her but the confusion on her face deepened. Leaning forward, I didn't realize what had transpired until she turned away with a blush coloring her cheeks and I was left with the fleeting sensation of softness.

".... Did you just ... kiss me?" I was dazed, unable to comprehend the gravity of it all and Eden, all brown eyed, hid her face from me and with a quiet hurt began to speak.

"I'm sorry Mason, that had been wrong of me. I knew that you didn't like me that way." I watched as a tear sliced down her cheek as she whispered how stupid she was over and over again. Something burst inside of me, hidden feelings and locked away words which longed and begged to allow escape, to allow what could never be to evolve to maybe. Gently caressing her cheek where the water had left its trail, she lifted her gaze up.

I found myself at a loss for words when our eyes locked, the emotions in my frantic heart were painful yet sweet and I couldn't stop. Lowering myself to just inches from where our lips could meet, I tried to rationalize inside my head how wrong this whole thing was. I would've succeeded too, if only Eden wouldn't have closed the distance between us and pressed her lips against my own.

It was tentative at first, explorative as we gauged each other's reaction. Her eyes were closed and I found myself watching, searching for any sign that I should stop.

I found none as slowly our lips found a rhythm and the hidden feelings inside me blossomed into a needy hunger that forced a hardening in my groin.

She moaned, the sound so full of want that my eyes closed in pleasure and my fingers brushed the smoothness of her thighs, when my hands got there in the first place? I have no idea.

After what felt like hours and when our lungs demanded oxygen, we broke apart but stayed close enough to each other that the small heat from our breaths could still be felt upon our skin. I slowly opened my eyes back open to see a pure look of wonderment and awe on Eden's face.

What I wouldn't give to see such a sight all the time.

"Eden.." A whisper that told volumes of the tumultuous inexplicable emotion in my soul and she whispered back, her words hammering the last nail in my coffin.

"Mason, I love you."

I returned to the cavern to find Chi resting atop the clothes belly side down she had so carelessly discarded without a single care how enticing she looked in the warm glow of the fire. I had phased out and changed before I had gotten back and when she heard my footfalls, she opened her eyes to reveal the ebony irises and what a mystery they held, a mystery I found myself intrigued by.

However, none of us spoke, simply enjoyed the silence with the ever so present undertone of sexual tension in the air. Spearing the fish unto sticks, I stood them near the fire and sat down away from the blaze on the other side of the cave. Chi chuckled mockingly, her eyelids fluttering shut.

"What's so amusing?" Irked by her indignant behavior I snapped the words out.

"Are you an Alpha or a bitch?" She questioned unflinchingly and my ire rose even more.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" I clenched my fist tight and grit my teeth down until it damn near hurt, hating the attraction I felt to the callous woman. Sitting up on her manmade pallet, she licked her lips, moistening them and giving them a gloss that had me wondering just what it would feel like for them to lick something else.

"I feel it, you feel it, there's no need to beat around the bush." Her fingers nimbly undid the clips on her bra and we never tore our gazes away.

"If you want to fuck me, then just do it." And with that, her bra slid down her skin.

A/N: Yup.
