Chapter 9

Allison

I was giddy as a child getting her Christmas present. Excited, over the clouds, on the top, stunned. These words were not enough to express how I felt. I mean who gets the opportunity to work with the best. I was fucking scared when Deloris called me into office. The only thought that was in my mind while going there was that I was getting fired. Noel was going to fire for one reason or another. I mean I got it he didn't like me and the fault was mine too. He had the freaking right to hate me I think. I came out too bold and childish. The word slut would surely have crossed his mind whenever he saw me, I was sure about that.

There was nothing to like about me after my behaviour. I had blatantly checked him out, stared at his naked self, slapped him even though it was for his personal benefit. I had more than once stepped into his personal space and when I realised that I was too late. I was already in his personal space. I don't know whenever I would see him or I am close to him my sense lose themselves and I feel myself drawn to him like a moth to the fire. If someone would have done something like that with me I would have just beat the shit out of him. I was glad that Noel hadn't done the same with me. He on the other hand just left me shocked and stunned with my mouth wide open for flies to enter. He had offered me a temporary position to be his secretary just to learn the ropes of the business world well. If my performance is off the charts the temporary position might turn into a permanent one. I would be working with his present secretary and manage a lot. Deloris has warned me to not make any mistake. It was her name on the line and only the best went there. So for the sake of her reputation and the position I was stepping into I should be too careful and attentive.

The best part was the money that was coming my way. Even on the temporary basis, I was getting to be paid double of my previous salary. Now don't think that it is freaking great, I know it is but whenever there is a crisis in the public relation department or whenever I'm needed I will have to go there and work. However, I couldn't abandon my work as of the secretary. In other words, I was handling two jobs, it was going to be challenging but I was always ready for a challenge. I just loved them. Deloris had told me to grab few things of my desk along with the purse and head upstairs. I was right now in the life with a hulk-man escorting me there. The last time we had met he was doing the same but that was a different situation then. My big mouth didn't seem to have close off and I had flirted with the CFO of the company and in the next minutes called him a bastard and what not. However, I need to put a filter over my bug mouth and control it. I didn't want the opportunity handed to me on the gold platter to slip off my hands. I knew that If I added this to my resume that I had worked directly under the CFO I could easily get a job anywhere as a secretary as well as an event coordinator in the public relations department.

As I reached the floor Alex waited for me to get out and Noel's secretary greeted me. She introduced herself and told me she was happy to have someone else with her to help. Karen was sweet. The work was too much for one person to handle. She called to let Noel know I had arrived and soon I was rushed in with Karen. He sat there like a king on his seat while working on some papers. He was really looking great and I was itching to comment on how good he was looking but I kept my mouth shut.

"Sir Allison is here," Karen spoke drawing him out of his work. His eyes turned towards me and those blue eyes had me entranced. Every time he looked at me I felt something deep inside me and it made me feel awkward but a good type of awkward.

"Allison, great to see you here."

"I think Deloris might have given you a brief about the job. I hope you understand that I'm giving you this opportunity only because I was impressed with your work yesterday." His eyes were on me and it was really hard for me to concentrate.
