I could feel the wind in my fur and the grass beneath my paws I was free then I felt a pair of hands grasp my neck an chock me.

I woke up startled in a bed that wasn't mine, in a house that wasn't mine when I looked over I seen danny his eye flashed open an in excitement I launched myself at him I stood up realizing this was the same guy who called me weak he looked at me strangely I spoke "so where am I & what happened" his eyes stuck on my face I gave a curious gaze but when he shook his head he was angry he spoke with a settled tone "so why did those girls beat you up" I put my head down and he yelled at me "DON'T ACT LIKE I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED" I started to shake and cry I didn't know what to say to him "i-im sorry" he stopped yelling and I continued "i- I'm sorry for everything....I know I'm not strong I know I can't do much they were right I am a runt" he grabbed me close an caressed my hair I bawled in his embrace I pushed him back an stood up "can you please take me home now" he nodded an we got back to his car he drove far enough for me to a get a great view of his very big mansion like house I didn't speak much I only gave him directions he finally stopped I went to say goodbye but he was getting out of the car I was getting nervous.

I slowly walked to my door an pulled out my key from my over the shoulder backpack I opened the door and to my pleasant surprise I felt the warm embrace of my mother I could feel her shaking an crying I held on to her and started to cry again she let go of me an I found myself wrapped in my father's embrace then my littler sisters embrace I sat on the couch an watched as danny stern look made my parents face go from happy to serious.

They all walked outside an I was alone with Julie she was counting with her fingers when she turned to me an with a sweet voice she asked "D-a-kota what does it mean to be A-do-pted" I opened my eyes wide she wasn't supposed to know she is adopted but her next response made me feel relief "my friend Tabitha is adopted and I don't know what that means" I sighed out and explained to her "the simple explanation for adopted means to bring home something or someone who isn't yours and love them as if they were, like a puppy/kitty from a shelter" she smiled an jumped up an down "I want a puppy, I want a puppy".

I smiled at her but shot my eyes up at my parents entering the house my mother looked even more upset an devastated I've never seen her look like that my father came to me an spoke "Dakota we've done all we can, go pack your things we---we don't want you here anymore" a tear fell from his soft eyes I started to cry even more "dad what did you just say to me....i-im your daughter you can't...please don't" he swallowed hard "you must go live with this nice young man".

I looked at danny whose eyes never lifted to look at me "you-you bastard what did you say to them....I....I HATE YOU" I felt the last words flow from my heart filled with hatred he can't do this to me he has no right to my mother dashed up the stairs and didn't return I didn't let go of Julie, I couldn't find a way to tell her I was leaving she would be so heartbroken why is this happening to me why am I being torn away from my family my mother came back with five packs of luggage and headed out to Danny's car setting them in his trunk she turned to me an with pain in her eyes she gave me a kiss on my cheek, grabbed Julie away from me an pushed me toward the door I stopped myself from screaming but when I turned around to ask for an explanation she slammed the door in my face I squeezed my eyes shut an got in the car i cried the entire way back to Danny's house I couldn't understand why they were doing this to me I am there daughter there only daughter I couldn't help but blame all of this on Danny he just acted like nothing happened he drove us back an said nothing.
