I walked down the stairs and found my dad and Michonne talking in the kitchen. "It's safe here for the time being," I heard my dad say.
"But are you calling this place home?" Michonne replied.
"I don't know." He starred out the window. "I want to find the others, but I don't know who got out. I know Carl thinks they are all gone, but maybe a few survived. I know some survived."
I walked closer and leaned againist the wall so they wouldn't see me.
"He has hope you know." My dad gave her a funny look. "When I first found you, he said that he still had hope that Judith is alive."
I had never told her that. I told that to Ava in a dream. How did she know?
There was a long pause between their conversation. I decided to walk in. "Hey Dad, Michonne said you wanted to talk to me." I bet he wanted to know if I wanted to stay or leave.
He gave me a hopeful look. "Yeah, but it can wait."
"What if I want to know now?" I asked.
Michonne looked at my dad. She shrugged her shoulders and he nodded. "Do you want to stay here, or do you want to go look for others who survived?"
I honestly don't think many survived. Maybe a few, or someone saved Judith. "I think we should wait until you are one hundred percent again and when we have more supplies." I couldn't risk him getting very weak or ill while we were on the road.
"It is safe here, for the time being," Michonne said. "Plus, we have a full neighborhood full of houses that may have a lot of food and supplies. Just look at that last house."
"Others will be looking, and so should we," Rick replied.
"It would be better for us to stay here if they are looking," I butted in. "What if we left tomorrow, and Glenn or Daryl show up the next day?"
We all became silent. Dad gave me a look. I hope he's thinking I'm right.
Michonne broke the silence by asking, "What about Carol?"
She was right. Where was Carol, and why wasn't she there when we were attacked? "Yeah. Where is Carol? She wasn't at the prison when the Governor destroyed it. Did she leave us?"
My dad sat down and rubbed his hands over his face. He let out a loud sigh. "I made her leave the group." He paused. "She killed Karen and David. I couldn't risk having her around you and Judith."
"Did she actually tell you she did it?" I asked in disbelief. That didn't seem like something she would do.
"Yes, she did." He paused. "She also said she wasn't sorry."
I couldn't believe she did it. Why did she do it? Also, why was my dad protective with us over her. Why didn't he try to stop the Governor."Why were you protective then? Why weren't you protective with when you knew the Governor was out there!?" I found myself screaming at him now.
"Carl," he started saying.
I cut him off. "No, you just wanted to play farmer. You got protective when you didn't need to be. Carol would not have touched me or Judith because she knew how you would've reacted! She wasn't a threat! The Governor was and you didn't do shit!"
"Watch your mouth!" He shouted back at me. Michonne had a frightened look on her face.
"Really? Maybe you should've watched Judith." I grabbed a bag off of the table and ran out the backdoor. I heard footsteps behind me, but they stopped when I reached the door. I paused at the door. "I should not have been worried about you. Maybe it would've been better if you had gone into a coma again... A permanent one." I opened the door, slammed it behind me, and went out to the back porch.
