Ch 15

It has been two days since Saturday, It was Monday now and still no sign of Gabriel. I can't say the house seemed quieter without him, he didn't really make much noise, but you can definitely feel the empty presence

Caleb decided to go to the police station to find out what happened, but when he came back he didn't say a word. He hair was messy from his constant tugging 

I dragged myself out of bed, putting my hair into a simple bun. I put the uniform on and barely managed to brush my teeth

My shoulders sagged and I was too drained to keep stressing

It's only been two days, get it together Tiffany

 I waited in the babies room for Braileen. My hands simultaneously brushed through their soft hair, the thought of them still in the mall when the shots rang made my stomach sink. Thank god we left when we did

Braileen set down her bag and smiled at me "They're sleeping?"

"Yeah, they stayed up with me for a while"

She nodded "You must be tired"

"You have no idea" I said and kissed down to kiss Mason to my left and Madison to my right. Then walked out

Tanner was outside with his car "I guess I'll have to take you to school then"

"Yeah" I said then hopped in and he immediately drove off

"So has Caleb said anything about Gabriel yet?"

"No, I tried to ask him but he changed the topic, I'm assuming it's a touchy subject"

I took a deep breath through my nose and fumbled with my hoodie strings

"I can see why you're worried" Tanner said, I nodded "He's like another brother"

My breath got stuck in my throat and I help back the repugnant slime climbing its way up "No" I forced "I have enough brothers"

Tanner looked straight ahead "You can never have enough brothers"

"You can't say that, you one have one, I have two"

"Actually, In case you forgot about those people in California, I have two and you have three"

I cringed "They're not family, we just share the same sperm donor"

Tanner sighed and stopped in front of my school "Good luck" he said

I stepped outside and a rush of loneliness consumed my body, I felt the missing presence that was constantly at my side, I mean he wouldn't talk to me or anything but he was still there...on a physical level

Gabriel

Where are you?

My heart contracted a little but I kept my face blank and walked through the scattered groups of people. I ignored everyone, keeping a low profile and made it to the classroom. The only one in the classroom.

'Ms. Jensen class hasn't started yet" The teacher said

"I know" I said taking a seat, she must have gotten the hint because she left me alone after that

The school day passed in a blur, I could feel Aiden's gaze on me, on my belly, on everything, and I couldn't stand it

Gigi had no idea where Gabriel was either

It was 3:05 when I saw him, I was looking down at my phone checking the time when my gaze slipped up and caught onto his, my breathing stopped and my heart lurched, I was left breathless

He leaned against his car with a simple black hoodie, he had a cigarette in his mouth but that didn't matter because he was here, he was really here

I meant to hold back, I really did but before I knew it my feet were moving and my arms were spreading open

I crashed into his chest holding onto him and inhaling his sweet familiar scent with a hint of the cigarette he was smoking, I hid my smile in his chest

His arms snaked around my body and he rested his chin on my head, I felt warm and a protected in his arms "missed me?" he said

I pulled away from his arms and punched him in the chest, his jaw twitches "Where have you been? What happened when we left? I heard shots, did you shoot someone? Did someone shoot you? Oh my god are you ok? Do you know how fucking worried we were?"

Gabriel grabbed my shoulder and pulled me to him "talk later" he said

Gigi came rushing next to us while screaming "You're not dead!" she said

I stepped back and she threw her arms around his shoulder and jumped on him

"Gigi" he wheezed and fell back against the car

"Damn I didn't think I was that heavy"

Gabriel smiled, but his jaw was clenched

Something wasn't right

 "He's been shot" I thought aloud

Gigi looked at me then turned back to Gabriel and pulled up his sweater "Where is it at!?"

He tried to escape her grip, but she then found the gauze on his shoulder before he could move

Gabriel rolled his eyes then pulled his shirt back up only for Gigi to pull it down and take a better look "how? By who?"

Gabriel motioned with his head for us to get in the car, I took shotgun before Gigi could even think about it

Yeah I know I know, I've ghosted for a while. School, life, stress is basically the reason.

I'm too young to start growing grey hairs so I'm trying to do one thing at a time so I don't end up collegeless and jobless.
