Enchanted Elements

Prolog

     Hotaru bolted up the ladder to the top of her home. Her red outfit was still covered in black dust from fighting just minutes before.

     Hotaru lived in one of the many giant trees in her village. It was usually a simple little village surrounded by a deep empty trench. Around a thousand years ago the village had been known for getting monster attacks. Now it was surrounded by a marvelous forest where the yellow leaves of the trees dazzled and shined in the sun. The village would look so intimidating when you first entered, it had the feeling and the look that it was big because the trees and grassy fields were huge and extravagant.
     Hotaru lived in almost the smallest house in the village. The tree trunk of the tree went straight through the center of the single room. It was covered in books leaving very little living space. Hotaru would spend most of her time exploring the forest beyond the village, or up upon her roof where she could lightly see the sun glimmering and shining through the giant leaves of the tree above her. She always climbs the ladder upon the books of many fantasies to get to the roof where she would spend her nights, watching the stars flicker and glisten through the leaves in the night sky.

~~~~~ Author Note: Hoi~! Scalinea~Chan here and I just wanted to say that I just started re-righting this book a few days ago. The original with its 5 chapters was my very first book so as you can guess it wasn't very good at all. I have improved what I have re-written by a huge jump. Story elements have changed along with character names and so forth. I am only a few paragraphs into the first chapter so it won't be seen anytime soon but I just wanted to get thoughts on the prolog. Welp, I got a lot of work to do so I hope I can get you feedback~!
