When you know that you're going to have a soul mate, you can't really have a boyfriend/girlfriend who didn't say what your tattoo says.

But when Anthony Jones said, "I love how your golden locks shine under the blinding light of the sun" to Samantha one day, Samantha thought she found her soul mate.

Yes, I included the word "thought" there, because Anthony isn't Samantha's soul mate.

Basically, he pretended he was, then at the end, broke up with her in front of the whole school, telling her (and I quote), "You couldn't possibly think I would fall for an ugly girl like you, right?"

And then he and all his friends laughed and walked away, leaving Samantha crying.

Samantha isn't ugly. She is actually one of the prettiest people I know. She has shoulder-length, blonde hair, that are a bit tougher to care than my long, silky, raven black hair, as she says. Samantha has amazing green eyes and a slim figure that has caused a lot of girls at school some jealousy.

But sometimes, we let what people say get to us. Samantha didn't come to school for two days after the incident. She had trusted Anthony. And in Glassgate, you don't mess with someone like that. The reason those tattoos are there... nobody knows. I think it's probably because it's an easier was to help us find our soul mates and live a happy life and blah blah blah.

But sometimes i feel there's something more to the tattoos being there... something magical.

After my free period, I walked with Maddox to lunch and I asked him if he wanted to sit with me and the rest of the "popular crowd". He said some of them didn't like him very well, so he didn't want to.

I nodded, and went to get my lunch and sat down.

One of the cheerleaders (in case you're wondering, yes, I am a cheerleader, too), Carmen Summers, was telling us about how excited she was for this party she's hosting on Saturday.

"So I thought Crystal, Luna, Samantha, Andrea and I could come to my place earlier so we could all get ready together, y'know?" Carmen said.

"Uh, yeah, sounds like a pretty good idea." I said.

Carmen squealed in delight. Jeez, that girl just gets excited at about anything.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a fake friend. But Carmen used to be... different.

See, before I was friends with either Luna or Samantha, Carmen was my bestest friend. Then she started getting obsessed with popularity and this girl, Andrea Johnson, moved here and Carmen became very good friends with her.

I started becoming some kind of third wheel whenever Carmen, Andrea and I were together. So I decided to find a couple friends of my own. I then found Luna, who didn't have any friends and was being bullied by some people at school because she was different.

Here at Glassgate, 'different' means you weren't born here. If you're not born here, it means you don't have a tattoo. No matter how long you stay in Glassgate, if you weren't born here, you're considered some kind of outsider.

And Luna and I started hanging out. Then Samantha was just left out of her friend group at that time, so Luna and I decided to be friends with her. Carmen noticed that I already had my own group of friends and we sorted things out and now, Carmen, Andrea, Luna, Samantha and I are one big happy bestie group.

Kinda complicated, I know.

After school, I was standing beside my car, looking for my car keys in my tote bag, when Maddox showed up.

"Hi... um... I was, uh, w—wondering if you'd l—like t—to... go on—" Maddox's sentence was cut off by Isaac coming up in front of him and saying, "Hey, Crystal! Um... I wonder if you'd wanna, y'know... go out with me?"

Haha, that awkward moment when someone asks you out in front of your soul mate...

"Oh! Isaac... I—I'd love to... but—"

"NO!" Maddox screamed. "NO ONE STEALS MY SOUL MATE!"

"Excuse me?!" Isaac turned to Maddox. "Who the fuck are you?!"

"Her soul mate, idiot!"

"Uh, no you're not! Who can trust someone like you?! I mean, look at him! He looks like a homeless little twelve-year old!"

Maddox ggasped "How dare you! You really think my soul mate would trust a bad boy like you?! You look like a—"

"BOTH OF YOU!" I screamed. Then turning to Isaac I said, "I'm sorry. I'd love to go out with you, but just as friends. Today I found out that Maddox here is my soul mate and—"

"Okay. Fine. Just forget it." That was what Isaac said before walking off. I realized then what a mess this whole thing is. And it's all my fault.

Hola! How'd you like the chapter?! A bit of action in it, am I right? Anyway, please vote, comment and follow me! Doing all three would take less than 30 seconds (probably) but it'd make me happy for a month! I'm not joking! Thanks for reading!
