The Phone Call

Chapter 4

"Vanessa your mom is safe for now." He said in that tone he always talk.

"Eric I swear if you hurt her I will-"

"You will what? What makes you think you will even get the chance to come near me. You know Vanessa you made a huge mistake when you brought Lilly and Jake into the same place. I didn't need the other girl but she'll work anyway."

"What the hell do you want you psycho?"

"Come alone and I might let your mom and the other girl free."

"Where and when?" I say through gritted teeth. I can feel him smirking all the way over here. He gives me an address and tells me to be there in 20 minutes. I hang up the phone and look at everybody else.

"Who is Eric? What did he want?" Zach says with so much worry and tenderness in his voice. His soft brown eyes staring at me with so much kindness.

"Eric is my mom's boyfriend who I knew was an asshole. He has my mom, Lilly, Jake, and Danika. He wants me to go alone I don't even know what he wants. I don't even remember being rude to him in person." I say as tears are about to pour out of my eyes.

"I don't mean to put more pressure on you but I am pretty sure someone took Austin and Robert." Zach says.

"What do you mean?" I ask

"Zach and I left to go get breakfast and when we came back Austin and Robert weren't there and we had a note from some guy named Eric saying he had them and only Vanessa could get them  back and that we had to bring you to him." Alex said

"No no no no no no no no no no no this is not happening." I slide down against the wall. I can not believe this what did I even do? Then it hit me.

"Oh my god I know who Eric is."

"what are you talking about Vanessa? Eric is your mom's "boyfriend"." Kristin says

"No he is my ex boyfriend's dad."

"What did you do to his son to make him want to hurt you so much?" Zach asks

"The thing is Jake was mine and Lilly's best friend for a long time and Jake had this girlfriend and she was super nice she had 2 brothers and Jake liked them. Jake thought it would be a good idea for Lilly and I to date them and then we did and they turned out to be abusive. They would hit us everyday, they made us promise not to tell anyone especially Jake or they would kill him. We kept our promise and then one day as my boyfriend was abusing me Jake walked in. Jake got so mad and then started to beat him up which then landed him to be in the hospital for 2 weeks only to be released to jail with his brother. Now his dad is after us and his sister is that Whataburger lady I knew I saw her somewhere before." I say

"To tell you the truth I can not and will not let you just go there by your self to some crazy man." Alex said.

"Me neither Vanessa. You go I go." Kristin said

"Look guys I appreciate that but I don't want y'all to get hurt." I say

"We get that but our friends are there too we need them." Zach says.

I realize he is right, so I decide to let them come with me. We take separate cars incase we have to do something else.

"Zach really likes you Nessa. You know that he isn't just going because of Austin and Robert he is going because of you too. As for Alex he is coming just for Austin and Robert." Kristin says as we get in the car.

"Kris Alex likes you. " I say as I back out and start driving.

"Does he really?" She says so shocked that I would even think that.

"Yeah he does the way he looked at you was proof enough. That was how Jake looked at me." I say whispering that last part.

"Wait do you still have feelings for Jake?" Kristin asked with her mouth opened and her hand covering it in shock.

The one time I wish I didn't blush was right now. "Yes maybe I do but it doesn't matter at this moment."

"VANESSA! How could you not tell anybody? We all thought you were over him and that is why when Zach came we thought oh yeah you can have him. Zach likes you and I know you feel something for him. Besides Jake is still dating that girl."

Ugh Caitlyn Bieber. Jake's girlfriend. I mean I don't hate her I just dislike her highly. She is a nice girl and all but jealousy at it's finest is right now. I wish I could get over Jake but something about him is hard to give up. But I do like Zach and he is super nice to me so if something happens then it happens. We finally reach the place and I tell the others to go a different way then me. As I walk in I realize it smells. It's cold and damp in here. I keep walking in this dark tunnel like thing. As I get closer I hear voices. I start to run towards the voices and then I see them. My mom, Lilly, Jake, Robert. Austin, and Danika. All of them tied up. They are talking to each other.

"I wonder if Vanessa is okay?" Lilly asks

I look at my mom who is silently praying. I was about to run towards her when I get knocked in the head by something last thing I see before I black out is my mom yelling she loves me.
