Cyn POVI felt a heavy arm draped across my stomach and a warm body lying right beside me. I didn't get much sleep last night because my heart wouldn't settle down from all that's happened last night and my mind kept replaying the scene over and over again in my head. And now I feel like shit! What am I doing?
"Good morning sunshine." Joe's dark eyes peered into my lazy ones. His smile already taking up half of his face. I rubbed my eyes to clear them because I really hoped it was a dream not reality.
"I'm not even going to ask how this happened." I muttered and he laughed.
"Well I can tell you that it wasn't a mission." He replied and kissed me softly on my forehead. He tucked an arm under my head and I snuggled up against his body.
I rolled over to check the time and it was still early in the morning, to be exact it was seven in the morning.
"You still mad at me?" I asked with an arch eyebrow and he shrugged.
"No! I missed you....I missed this." He whispered against my hair. Suddenly his phone started to vibrate on the night stand and I heard him letting out a low grunt before he unwrapped me to check his phone. He checked the caller but without answering it, he immediately turned it off and tossed it back onto the table.
"Is everything okay?" I asked as he wrapped his arms around me again.
"Mhm." I gave him a skeptical look but Joe had his eyes shut and he was slowly falling asleep.
"Then who's calling you at seven in the morning?" I asked.
"Fab." He muttered.
"why he calling you so early?" I continued my interrogation and Joe cranked his eyes opened to look at me.
"Everything's fine Cynthia." Joe started.
"Suddenly Joe rolled on top of me, keeping himself up with his elbows and he stared deeply into my eyes. I suppressed the urge to wrap my arms around his neck and pull him down onto me with our lips locked (why am I even thinking about a kiss)"
"Cynthia," Joe said softly.
"Yeah?"
"I love you"
I didn't say it back because honestly it didn't seem fair saying those words especially since I said those same words to my ex not too long ago.
"Joe swung his legs over my bed and started dragging his feet out of my room. Although he's dragging his feet out, he still had that stupid smirk on his face which told me he wasn't really pissed off that I didn't say it back.
I kept my eyes on him while he walked towards the door of my room. He opened it slightly before he turned to look back at me with his heart melting smile.
"Breakfast will be ready in twenty." He called out before stepping out of my room before I could even answer.
The moment the door closed, I fell back down onto my bed and buried my face into my pillow. Joe's scent immediately filled my nostrils and I haven't realized the smell earlier until now when he's gone.
As I was getting ready, I was practically moving like a zombie and my head started throbbing due to lack of sleep. I changed out of my pajamas and into some comfortable t-shirt and shorts before I headed out of my room and downstairs.
