A tear splashes onto the faded paper,
That is no longer youthful
Rather, it frays at the edges from the
Countless storms it has survived.
A tear,
My tear.
A tear tainted in the darkest hue,
That leaves me shocked that it has fallen from my eyes.
A tear,
Darkened to a shade of charcoal,
That absorbs all light.
The splash looks ethereal
As a part of it shines with an unknown light
While the other revels in shadows.
My fingers graze the surface of the tear,
Which tattoos my fingertip with a dark smudge.A reminder of the darkness that has fallen from my eyes.
