Lila stared at her forever changing ceiling. She had bought an infinity paint when she was much younger and asked her dad to paint it on the ceiling in their old house so in the new one she decided to do the same. Now, her ceiling had a new colour every couple of minutes. Sometimes the colours mixed up and swirled round creating a breathtaking display. Now, purple, blue, pink, and specks of gold and silver had come together and were swirling round swiftly. A smile found its way onto her face as she saw the display of colours. Closing her eyes, with a clear mind and a small smile still visible on her face, she fell into a deep sleep.

In the state where dreams snatch pieces of reality and mix with crazy things which make no sense and twists and turns on facts and objects. Things that make no sense but sometimes show you glimpses of the future...

She felt nothing and everything at the same time. It was as if she was numb but not. Cold and hot. A mixture of all the colours and just black and white. It was complete madness. Colours, words, images, distant sounds and an eerie fog surrounded her. She could make out a series of stepping stones which she then hopped across. She reached a flight of stairs which lead to a door, which looked ancient and as if it was trying to fade into it's surrounding and no longer exist. Curiosity got the better of her and she reached out, towards the handle. Curiosity killed the cat. She twisted it and pushed gently...the door flew open and a force pushed her out. The door closed and disappeared. She fell. Screaming at the top of her lungs, she plunged, towards the city.

She abruptly sat up in her bed, breathing heavily. Her throat felt raw from the amount she had screamed. It was just a nightmare, it's got nothing to do with reality, she thought. Little did she know...

Laying back down, she stared at her ceiling but it brought her no more comfort. Slowly the steady rythm of the clock lulled her back to sleep.
