"I hope we get in," Priscilla muttered tiredly. Lila nodded and fell into deep thought. If she didn't get in what would she do, apply for another Magic University or should she go into an Mage/Wizardry apprenticeship. Maybe her dreams were too far to reach. "No" she told herself "I will aspire and aim high and if I fall short, so what, I can try again. Perseverance is the key in life."

Priscilla gave her a confused look and blinked. "Oh wow I said that out loud didn't I?" Lila huffed out a laugh and shook her head. After a while of walking in a comfortable silence they said goodbye as they made took different paths for going home.

Lila zoned out and fell into deep thought and an eerie silence snapped her back to reality. The street was empty of people, and life. There was just the sound of gravel crunching underneath Lila's feet. She stopped "Oh my where am I?" she thought. She looked around, something wasn't right. A shiver crawled her arm slowly, in a menacingly teasing way.

She noticed not quite far ahead two cloaked figures stood opposite each other. One stood hunched with a once royal blue, worn hooded cloak and the other man seemed young and strong with a black cloak so dark it was as if it was sucking the light from the surrounding. Fear transfixed Lila to her spot. The man in a black cloak pointed at the other causing the older man to fall to the ground. The young man spoke, his voice clear bouncing across the deserted area

"Tick tock goes the clock, and all the years they fly, tick tock and all too soon, you and I must die."

He laughed and shot an electric bolt from his finger at the old man causing him to fall onto his knees and scream out in pain. Lila screamed, only just breaking from her trance of fear. The wizard cloaked in black turned around slowly, his hood cast a shadow over his face, making his face seem like a dark void. He pointed at her and a high pitch sound filled her ears. She screamed and clasped her hand over her ears. Her effort to muffle the sound was pointless it only grew louder. She doubled over in pain. She screamed for it to stop. She muttered spells she knew to make it stop but nothing worked. Just as she was at the point of passing out from the effects of the sound, an abrupt silence sliced through the air and she was pushed with a force unknown to mankind. The world flipped and darkness took over.

She felt nothing and everything at the same time. It was as if she was numb but not. Cold and hot. A mixture of all the colours and just black and white. It was complete madness. Colours, words, images, distant sounds and an eerie fog surrounded her.

Lila felt an horrible feeling of de ja vu.  She could make out a series of stepping stones which she then hopped across. Something was showing her the way, pulling her towards somewhere. She reached a flight of stairs which lead to a door, which looked ancient and as if it was trying to fade into it's surrounding and no longer exist. Without control her hand reached out, towards the handle. "No no no I shouldn't this doesn't feel right!" she thought but her hand seemed to have a mind of its own and curiously twisted it and pushed gently...the door flew open and a force pushed her out. Curiosity killed the cat. The door closed and disappeared. She fell. Screaming at the top of her lungs, she plunged, towards the city. She kept falling. Down. Down.

Right before she hit the ground she was frozen in midair as if she were a puppet with strings for controlling her then she was released and slammed onto the ground.
