Unwanted To Loved Ch. 22

Ruby's P.O.V.

Amy stands up. "I want to help protect Ruby." She says.

I was shocked. 

"Amy, we have three guards to protect her." Matt says.

"I don't care. They probably won't be able to do their job right." She says.

"Brian, aren't you going to say something?" Matt asks.

I see Brian shake his head no.

"I know I won't get her to change her mind." He says.

"Ruby, its your decision." Matt tells me.

"I want to see how good you fight first and then I'll decide." I say.

"Shall we go now or..." She asks.

"Go where?" I hear an unfamiliar voice ask.

I turn to find where the source of the voice was coming from and I see a man and a woman standing there. 

"Mom...dad..." I hear Matt say.

Those must be his parents returning from their trip. 

"Oh...Brian, your parents are in their house." The woman says.

He leaves then out the door. The two people walk over to us.

"Who is this Matt?" The man asks.

"My mate Ruby." Matt replies putting an arm around my waist.

They both have happy looks in their faces.

"I'm Grace and this is Daniel." The woman announces.

I held out my hand to shake their hands but they don't hand me their hands.

"We don't shake hands...we give hugs." Daniel tells me.

I put my hand down to my side and then Daniel goes and pulls me into a hug. I felt awkward and didn't hug back. Then after being hugged by Daniel, I was passed to Grace and she hugged me. This time though, I didn't feel awkward so I hugged her back. After the hug, I backed up a bit and watched as Amy and Matt both hugged their parents. 

"What's going on? What did I miss?" Daniel asks.

I watch Amy grab the note and hand it to her dad. I see him read it and he looks pissed off.

"So, your old pack wants you back Ruby?" Daniel asks.

"Yes." I reply.

"Well, their not getting you back. And that is a promise." He says.

I was shocked at his words.

"Should we discuss a battle strategy?" Matt asks.

"Wait...I want to be there. Maybe I can talk to Dylan, tell him I'm not in any harm and maybe he could call of the war." I say.

"Who is Dylan?" Daniel asks.

"My brother." I reply.
