Chapter 8 : Chaos is Happiness and Happiness is You

Ed swings the back door to my car open and yells "Elloooooo children we are going to have SO MUCH FUN!" I didn't hear any noise from inside of the car so I came up behind Ed and peaked around him to see what was going on, the looks on their faces were priceless. "M-mom, mom, mom, moooommmm, that is Ed Sheeran mom. Mom, you work for Ed SHEERAN?????" Alayah yelled suddenly and I covered my mouth trying not to laugh at her, I shook my head slowly and smiled, "Surprise?" Mason is sat there with his mouth hung open nearly onto the ground, he is a huge fan of Ed, and Jake is just trying to hurry out of the car to assess his surroundings. Ed is standing in front of me beaming as he begins to motion for them to get out of the car, "Come on guys get out, let's get the holiday started. Your mum is going to cook for us so I'm sure it will be amazing, she's a great cook yea?" Mason speaks then, "Yea my mom can cook very well." Jake shouts out "I really like nuggets, do you like nuggets Ed? My mom makes really good nuggets." Ed laughs "I do like nuggets buddy, and I have had ones your mum made, they are great. Let's go inside and get this holiday sorted!" The kids jump out of the car and begin running toward the door as I grab the bags out of the back and begin taking them to the house as Ed runs up grabbing them from me and smiles "Holiday Nic, HOLIDAY!" I shake my head laughing then whine at him "If I'm on holiday then why do I have to cook Eddie? Huh?" Then Alayah runs up "Yea my mom aaalways cooks, I have to eat her food EVERY day." Ed chuckles at this and says "So do I and I love it! Plus Nic, there's no holiday from your cooking, I love it too much." I just roll my eyes at him and laugh as we go inside and Ed places our bags at the bottom of the stairs. They all have a seat on the sofas in the front room and I stand between Ed and the children to introduce them, "Ok guys, as I'm sure you kids know this is my boss Ed, now Ed, this is Alayah who is 10, this is Mason who is 8, and this is Jake who is 6." The children all smiled and waved as I said their names and Ed nodded at each of them before he got up and plopped between them on the other sofa. "I don't know why you guys think you have to sit over here, I feel like I know you guys already and you all sound lovely. Plus if you're anything like your mother we will get along perfectly." I shake my head at him but smile widely down at him then plop onto the sofa across from them, "Ok children, revisions?" They all groan in unison and Jake shouts out "MOOM I thought this was holiday!!" Alayah whines and I roll my eyes pointing her to her backpack "It is, but Monday it won't be a good excuse for why your revisions aren't completed. Now go get them, the faster they're completed the faster you can play." They nod and get their revisions taking them to the table in the dining room as I go to the kitchen to begin preparing dinner. Ed comes into the kitchen after me and begins to whine "Really Nic? Why do they have to do revisions? I want to do something fun!" I laugh shaking my head at him and smile "Eddie, it won't take them long but they need to get their school work done and then you can play I promise." I pat his head lightly as I begin taking the food I need to make dinner out and he rolls his eyes at me as I laugh. Ed sits at the bar watching me with his head propped up on his fists "So what are you making and what should we do tonight? I got these giant Legos for the pool, do you think it will be too late for swimming after dinner? Should we watch a film? Will you make pop corn and then sundaes later? Oh Nic yes, please!?" I begin to mix the ingredients for dinner and laugh hysterically at him, "Calm down Ed gosh you're worse than the children!" He pouted looking at me with his bottom lip stuck out and said "I am not, take it back!" "I will not, I'm making a casserole, and you're not supposed to swim for an hour after you eat. Also, I will make you pop corn and sundaes if you calm down." At this Ed sat up straight smiling and watched as I finished preparing the casserole then placed it into the oven, the children weren't quite done with their revisions yet so Ed and I went to gather some films and games he had. "Nic they're so good how do you get them to do that?" "I don't know they just listen I guess." I laughed in response and he nodded gathering up a few more films and we carried them to the game room.  By this time the children were finished and we piled into the game room to pick a game, we couldn't agree on one thing so Alayah and I play go fish as Ed and the boys pick a Lego set to build. Half way through our third game of go fish Ed yells out "Yes! You guys are awesome we finished it!" I look over to see their completed star wars scene and smile proudly matching all of their looks, "That is so awesome boys, good work, I'm very proud of you." They smile and Ed places it on a shelf for display as we pick out a few films to watch. We've agreed on three different films and take them over to the film room and Ed gets the first film all set up as I go to make pop corn and the children settle into their seats. I pop two huge bowls of pop corn and bring them up to the film room, the children are sitting on the sofa nearest the screen and Ed is sat on the sofa above them, I place a bowl of pop corn in his lap and smile as I take the other bowl to the child, they smile and say thank you as I push my way between them on the sofa. I look up at Ed to see if he's ready to start the film and he pouts at me "Really Nic you aren't even going to sit by me?" I laugh motioning for him to squeeze onto the sofa with us as I get up and move the an end seat and Ed comes down to squeeze next to me offering some of his pop corn. I take a bit of pop corn and smile as we settle on the sofa while Ed starts the film. Half way through our second film the children are asleep, Ed laughs quietly and decides that he will move them each to their own sofa and they can just sleep there, once the children are comfortable and covered up Ed and I go down to the front room and settle onto the sofa there, "What do you usually do after the children go to sleep Nic?" I laugh at this "I usually sleep Eddie, or clean the dishes but I've already done that." He looks over at me smiling and says "You're such a good mum Nic." I shake my head and smile "Thanks, I try." "Well tonight you're going to do something other than sleep, let's go swimming Nic!" I look at him confused then let out a giggle "You know its dark and chilly out right Ed?" He nods bouncing around "Ya but who cares come on live a little stiff!" I laugh shaking my head and smile "Alright then, I'll go change." He smiles running upstairs and I grab my swim stuff out of my bag. I go into the downstairs restroom and change into my suit quickly then throw a super baggy t over it, I'm not all about showing everybody everything its just not me, I throw my hair into a loose side braid so it will curl in the morning and gather my clothes to go put them away. I start walking over to the bag I brought for dirty clothes and bump into Ed "Woah sorry!" I say before looking up but when I do I'm greeted by a vibrantly colorful torso and a beaming Ed but his smile falls and he furrows his brows at me. "What's the matter Eddie?" He shakes his head motioning toward me "What's this you're wearing?" "Um, what I swim in?" He rolls his eyes mumbling under his breath, I shrug putting my dirty clothes away and follow him out to the pool. I can't wrap my head around how a back can be so sexy, I'm beginning to think this might be a bad idea I want to just reach out and touch him. We arrive at the pool and Ed adjusts the temperature, I'm standing at the edge shivering slightly as he comes up next to me "Its probably a bit cold right now may want to wait." He says and I nod "You going to get in first?" I ask him and he shakes his head "No way you're the one that needs to live." I roll my eyes at him and begin to walk to the other side, he follows me around and I stand behind him admiring, he's got a pretty cute bum, suddenly I'm overcome with mischief and I run up behind him pushing him into the pool. Ed surfaces with an angry look on his face and I know I'm done for, I try to run but he's made it out of the pool in record time hes behind me his arms around my waist lugging me to the pool and just as I start begging him to forgive me he tosses me into the pool without a second thought. I break up and out of the water with a scream "Holy fuck thats cold!" He's laughing from the other end of the pool then he begins swimming toward me, before I can even think about swimming away he's got ahold of my foot and he's dragging me under I'm trying to hold onto anything I can grip but it isn't working and he isn't letting up I start smaching his back as its getting harder to breath and he pulls me up above the surface and wraps me into a deathhold from behind. "Say you're sorry Nic." I shake my head wildly and he starts to push my head back down "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry! I'll never do it again Eddie I promise!" He laughs and let's go of me, all of his warmth is gone and I wish he hasn't let go but its over now. We swim a little more then just stand next to each other pressed against the ledge of the pool watching the colors of the night sky change.
