Chapter 10 : This Is It

We drove back to Ed's hand in hand stealing kisses at stop lights and just smiling the entire time. Once we got there Ed carried my bag in for me and I smiled at him gesturing to the glass doors "Its dark out Eddie, care for a swim?" He nodded and I smiled grabbing my bag and doing to change, once in the toilet I put my suit on then looked into the mirror studying myself, I don't love what I see but Ed must like something about me so I figure its alright to go without a t shirt this time and put my clothes and bag to the side when I heard a knock "Baby?" By this time Alayah and Jake are behind him studying our faces "How do you mean Mason?" You look at my mom a lot like the way she looks at us." Ed chuckles shaking his head and just smiles nodding at Mason, "Yea I like your mum, is that alright?" Mason nodded and went off to pick up the things they were using to make music as well as Alayah and Jake, Ed walked over to me kissing my forehead and smiles whispering "That was easier then I anticipated." I just laughed and began setting the table as his parents arrived, Ed let them in and introduced them to the children as I washed the dishes they'd dirtied and listened as Ed and his parents laughed with the children in the front room. Once the dishes were clean and the table was set I went out to bring them into the dining room, Ed's mother and father each brought me into big hugs and told me how its been too long since they've been found and we sat down to eat. "So do you children like hanging out with my Teddy? He's a big kid this once." Imogen says to the children and they nod smiling, I pat Ed's leg lightly under the table and then Mason speaks up "Ed likes my mom, well I think he loves her." My mouth dropped my hands went over my mouth and I looked over at Ed he was looking at me like nothing was wrong and his mother and father were smiling at him "Its about time someone says it out loud!" John bellows and remove my hand from my mouth laughing as Ed takes my hand scooting closer to me. We finish lunch with conversation about the next time we will get together and when the kids can go to John and Imogen's for the weekend, the kids and Ed's parents are eager for that and I laugh. Once they leave we part with hugs and Imogen kisses me on the cheek smiling "I'm so glad my son finally got his head out of his bum and told you." I laughed "Me too." After they left the children gathered their bags for camp and Ed and I drove them to the site, they hugged Ed before I took them inside and held onto them as long as I could before going. The car ride back to Ed's was comfortable and silent hand in hand.
