"Excusez-moi, sir, but what?"

"I thought you and (Y/N) were dating." George Washington told Lafayette nonchalantly from behind his desk.

Lafayette blinked and it took him an extra second to compose himself.

"Why would you think that, sir?"

"Well," he started. "You both talk a lot about each other and they..." He trailed off.

"They..?" Lafayette asked curiously.

Washington smirked and rested a hand underneath his chin, "They told me they liked you, as in more than a friend, Lafayette."

Lafayette's eyes widened and his mouth went dry. They what?

"So I suggest you do something about it, Lafayette." Washington said as he grabbed a paper from his immense pile. "Now leave, I have lots of work to do."

Lafayette walked out, with his mouth still wide open still trying to process what his boss has told him.

(Y/N), the person he has been pining for since the day he met them, likes him back. He had to do something about it, but what? He decided to call a couple of his friends to ask them what he should do.

After many phone calls from his closest friends and lots of weird ideas, he chose the simplest way by just going to their house and telling them how he feels. He drove to your house and took a deep breathe before he was about to ring the door bell, but he stopped.

What if Washington was mistaken? What if it was all a joke? What if you actually didn't like him and you laughed in his face?

Lafayette was so preoccupied with his self doubting thoughts that he didn't notice you open the door.

"Laf?" You asked. "What are you doing outside my door?"

He looked down at your small figure. Although he was very tall and everyone was short to him, you were absolutely petite to him. It made him like you more because of how small and precious you looked compared to him, making him very protective of you.

He blushed, "Ah I was about to ring your door bell when I..." He trailed off not knowing the words to describe what happened.

"Zoned out?" You giggled as you opened the door to let him inside.

He thanked you as he walked inside and smiled when he noticed the smell of popcorn throughout the apartment. He turned around and raised an eyebrow at your sheepish appearance.

"I was gonna have a movie night," You shrugged. "You can join me if you want. I haven't even picked out the first movie."

Lafayette grinned, "Better make an extra bag of popcorn, ma chérie."

Your face turned red and skipped over to the kitchen.

Lafayette took in your apartment as you were gone. He noticed a pair of his shoes by all of yours, a couple of his jackets hung up on the coat hanger, and one of his phone chargers. He loved that the two of you lived seamlessly with each other. He knows that you have clothes and even a toothbrush at his place and he started to imagine a life where the two of you lived together and grew old together. He snapped back to reality when he heard you walk back into the living room.

"So why'd you come over?" You asked as you sat down on the couch with a huge bowl of popcorn.

"Do I need an excuse to see my favorite girl?" Lafayette smirked.

You blushed and looked down, fidgeting the remote in your hands. You looked back up after the room was filled with awkward silence and Lafayette was looking nervous himself. He was about to speak when you spoke up.

"How about we build a pillow fort?" You laughed to ease the tension.

Lafayette looked relieved and nodded vigorously. The two of you went to work stealing every single pillow and blanket in the apartment to build the ultimate fort. You also grabbed some fairy lights packed away in your room. As you set them up, you noticed that Lafayette brought some more snacks which he replied that he gets hungry during movies. You giggled and flopped into the enormous pile of blankets while wrapped around in a blanket.

"C'mon, Laf! Help me pick out a movie!" You yelled as you reached for the remote.

The two of you decided to watch Sleeping Beauty, since it's always been your favorite since you were a little kid.

You clicked on it and got comfortable, ready to mouth the words and sing the songs you knew by heart.

About halfway through the movie, Laf stopped watching it and started watching you. You were wrapped up nice and tight in a blanket while curled up next to him. He smiled as he saw the content look on your face as you sang the words.

He knew he had to talk to you about what Washington told you. He debated in his mind for a long time before he slightly shook you.

"(Y/N), I have to talk to you about something." Lafayette said seriously.

You sat up straighter and scooted so you were facing him. Lafayette cleared his throat and started fiddling with his shirt.

"Y'see, ma chérie, I was talking to Mr. Washington today and well uh.."

You motioned for him to continue, eager to know where he was going with this and also wanting to get back to watching the movie.

"He well...he told me something interesting and I thought I should talk to you about it and well..."

"Laf just spit it out!" You exclaimed.

"Do you like me?" He slapped a hand over his mouth as you both stared wide eyed at each other.

You were about to open your mouth to reply when Lafayette beat you to the punch and started rambling.

"I mean it's alright if you don't it's just that I sorta like you and I was hoping it would be mutual and I came over to make sure and..."

As he kept rambling, you took a moment to process what he was saying. He liked you, he knows you like him, what was stopping the two of you?

You grabbed his shirt and pulled him towards you, crashing your lips to his. Lafayette froze when your lips connected while you just snaked your arms around him, trying to encourage him to kiss you back. Soon enough, Lafayette closed his eyes and allowed himself to be drowned by your touch. He wrapped his arms around you to pull you closer and moaned as you slipped your tongue into his mouth. The two of you were like that for a long time before you pulled back.

"So," You smirked as you saw Lafayette's shocked face. "How 'bout you choose the next movie?"

Lafayette blushed a dark red before he picked Beauty and the Beast. He sat back down and you snuggled up again at his side as you watched the movie, but this time you would kiss his cheek and he would kiss your forehead every once in a while.

"Hey Laf," You looked up at him. "Are we like..."

He chuckled and tightened his arms around you, "We can be whatever you want, mon amour."

You blushed at the new nickname he had given you and pulled him down to give him a hard kiss.

"Mmm I would like to think that we're dating now." You told him.

Lafayette chucked again, "I'd like that very much, mon amour."
