"Do you draw anyone else, 'Liza?"
Eliza jumped, almost causing her pencil to mark across your nearly perfect face.
"Peggy!" She harshly whispered. "She could hear you!"
Peggy snickered while licking her ice cream cone. She loved teasing her older sister about you.
You were the new girl at school and ever since you walked into Eliza's english class she has been infatuated with you. She was much too shy to go up and talk to you, so instead she sketched you as much as she could. Almost all her friends could tell she was head over heels for you, including her entire english class. Eliza couldn't help but stare at you whenever you were so concentrated with your notes, reading a book, or simply just zoning off into space. Her favorite time to sketch you was whenever you were writing. She knew it wasn't for the class since they rarely wrote essays and she was always curious on what you were writing about, but that would slip her mind once she saw the glint of inspiration in your eyes and your tongue sticking out in concentration. Whenever she saw this, Eliza would quickly reach into her bag and grab her sketchbook, determined to etch this perfect moment in time.
Take now for example, you were sitting under a tree during lunch time, writing away while the sun outlined all of your flawless features. Your hair shone as the sun's rays hit your locks, your eyes seemed to glisten more than usual, and your lips looked so kissable from the table Eliza was watching you with heart eyes.
"I can go talk to her for you if you want?" Peggy interrupted her daydreaming.
Eliza's eyes widened and gripped her sister's arm, frantically shaking her head, "No no Peggy! She probably doesn't even know me!"
Peggy rolled her eyes and shook herself out of Eliza's grip, "We're partners in anatomy together, she knows who I am and she especially knows who you are. If I go talk to her maybe you guys will be partners in anatomy, if ya know what I mean." She winked.
Eliza blushed deep red and tried to sputter out a response, but Peggy was already walking over to the tree you were lounging under. She took a deep breath and waited to see how it would play out.
Maybe this is good! Eliza thought to herself. She will finally notice me and we can be friends at first and then maybe I can confess my feelings to her.
Eliza smiled to herself as she thought about going on dates with you and kissing you. She was totally relaxed until she spotted the piece of paper in Peggy's hand.
It was one of her drawings of you.
It was already too late to stop her evil sister. She saw you putting your notebook down as Peggy approached you and she saw Peggy giving you her sketch. Eliza quickly started stuffing her pencils and sketch book in her bag and sprinted across the quad, desperate to get away from you, unable to handle seeing your most likely disgusted face when Peggy told her she was drawing you when you weren't looking. She ran into the girls' restroom and locked herself in a stall and started crying.
"Stupid stupid stupid!" Eliza whispered to herself as she wiped her nose with toilet paper.
She hid in the bathroom for the rest of lunch but knew she had to leave once the bell rang. She started making her way to her next class when she realized english was her next class.
Eliza froze in the hallway, allowing other students bump into and mumble at her to move, but she didn't care. She tried to think of ways to get out of class, but she was out of luck. She was much too good to skip class and she was a horrible liar, so faking sick was out. Eliza started to shake when she realized she had no other option but to go to class and face you and most likely face rejection.
She wiped her sweaty palms on her blue dress and walked into class with her head down. She still wasn't ready to see your face. She plopped down in her seat and buried her head in her arms until the bell rang, signaling class to start.
Eliza was in the middle of writing notes when a piece of paper landed on her desk. She curiously stared at it before unfolding the neatly wrapped paper.
can I talk to you after class? <3
-(Y/N)
Eliza took in a shuddering breath and finally met your eyes for the first time. She was surprised to see a bright smile on your face as you waited for her answer. Eliza simply nodded as a wave of red crossed her face when she heard you giggle in excitement. She didn't think she could fall any harder, but after hearing your laugh she felt her heart pound in her ears.
Eliza couldn't tell if it was fear or excitement when she heard the final bell ring. She slowly packed her school supplies and walked out the door. She saw you leaning on the lockers, back turned towards her. She shakily walked up to and tapped your shoulder. You turned around and still had that blinding smile from before.
"Y-you wanted to talk to me?" Eliza stammered.
You nodded with a faint blush on your cheeks and reached into your pocket to grab her drawing, "Peggy told me that you draw me a lot. Is that true, Eliza?"
Eliza looked her with wide eyes when you said her name. It took her a while to respond to your question before she shyly nodded.
Your smile became brighter and you giggled again, causing Eliza's heart to pound. Eliza's confidence started to grow when she realized you weren't disgusted by her.
"I like drawing you when you're writing," Eliza confessed. "What do you write about?"
This time you became the flustered one as your cheeks turned red and you stared down at your shoes, "I-well, I write about you."
Eliza's heart rate picked up when she heard your words.
"I always thought that you were some kind of made up character because of how perfect you are," You rubbed your neck nervously, unable to meet her eyes. "So I wrote about you, just simple things. Like how your hair looked or how you always wear blue or how you look when you're drawing. So when Peggy told me you were drawing me and well, she told me you liked me, I instantly became the happiest girl in the world."
The both of you stared at each other for a while, hearts pounding over the confessions.
"Do," Eliza started. "Do you want to hang out sometime? I can sketch you w-while you write, but if you don't want to-"
You gently grabbed her face and placed a chaste kiss on her lips, "I'd love to, Eliza. Maybe you can read some of my writings about you."
Eliza blushed and pulled you in for another kiss.
