Nate's POV

I sat in my desk trying to focus on the lesson the teacher was instructing, trying so hard to cancel out the faint laughter at the back of my head. I looked out of the corner of my eye and caught a slight peek of Hector watching me.  He watched me with a playful gleam in his eye, and a mischievous smirk on his lips. I wanted to wipe that smirk off his face, my fingers curled tighter around my pencil making the wood crack from the pressure. I quickly looked away, the last thing I needed was to get kicked out of class because of a brawl with Hector.

"Okay, everyone sit next to your partner and begin the writing assignment for the last few minutes of the day."

Unfortunately, Dylan wasn't here so the paper was going to take even longer to complete. I groaned and put my pencil on the first blue line coming to a quick blank in thought. My ears trembled as the screech of a chair meet them on side of me. My eyes raised to my left and I quickly looked back to my blank paper.

"What's up, puta?" I could hear the laughter in his voice, not to mention the laughter of his friends in the back.

"What the hell do you want?" I growled.

"You know, when I first met your sister she was the most pitiful thing I ever saw. So needy." Hector laughed as if recalling a joyous memory.

I looked up at him with angry eyes, "Then why didn't you just leave her the hell alone?" I snarled. My life and hers would've been much easier if Hector had kept his distance.

"Why, would I do that? She's so easy to control. It was a fair trade; her body and heart, for my company. She completely belongs to me and no one can take her away. Not even her own twin."

"I might not be able to keep her away, but once she sees what a bastard you are she will leave you in the dust." I sneered with my hands balled in tight fist.

Hector smirked, "Then why isn't she gone?"

I raised my eyebrow, "She came to my apartment last night, caught me slobbering down a beautiful girl. She cried like a baby. I told my side piece to leave, then I laid her on the bed and did all kinds of things to her. Afterwards, I told her how much I loved her and all was forgiven."

"Wait, she caught you with everything!" I hissed.

"Even the drugs." Hector smiled, "So, as you can see, April will never leave me."

"What makes you so sure?" I asked him.

"Because... I won't let her." He hissed.

The bell rang and Hector left me speechless in an angry rage. I should've punched Hector right in his smug face. Grabbing my book bag I stomped out of the class and walked to the front of the school. When I see her I am going chew her out so bad.

"Nate." I looked to my left and saw April cautiously coming out the door.

I opened my mouth prepared to unlock hell's gate, "April, I can't believe you could be so-"

"Shut the fuck up, Nate! It's my turn to talk!" She yelled. I huffed and I puffed, and I shut the fuck up. I glared hard holes into her making her take in an uneasy breath. She looked at me and hugged me. I was so caught of guard that I stood like a statue.

"Nate, I'm so sorry I didn't listen to you! It was just I thought you were just keeping me from being happy." She cried gripping on to my shirt.

I wrapped my arms around her and out my chin on the top of her head, "I know we're not in the best place right now, but know that I would, could never hurt you. I was only trying to protect you." I held her tighter in my arms, this was the closest me and my sister had been in a long time.
