Victoria's POV
I swear my brother thinks I'm crazy, he pretty much didn't say anything to me throughout breakfast but kept tossing me worried glances.
I could feel my frustration growing with each passing glance....I swear you wake someone up in the middle of the night telling them that a giant wolf was in the camp and they find you crazy. Humph.
keep cool....deep breaths...heeeeehooo heeeehooooo
GAH not helping!
I was pretty dang close to hurting him when he coolly got up and suggested that we should all take a hike to clear our heads. (Well....I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that was aimed at me.)
"Yeah sure Dan, it sounds like fun!" I agree cheerfully feeling my mood lighten quickly.
I mean, even though I knew what he was trying to do, I still think taking a hike on such a beautiful day would be really nice.
It took us about an hour to clean up breakfast and to get ready but then away we went!
I was wearing shorts, an old t-shirt with my long brown hair pulled up and white bandages on my knees....Classy.
"Ok, are my girls ready to go?"
"YUP!" Jess and I yell back at the same time.
"Then off we go!" Dan declares as he takes both our arms and we start off.
After maybe 30 minutes I couldn't take the evil glares Jess was tossing at me so I dropped back a few feet without being noticed by Daniel.
I swear if we come to a cliff I might "accidentally" push her off...BWAHAHAHA I am an evil freaking genius! (please cue thunder and lightning)
Awwww.....ok...now I feel kinda bad for thinking that....I hate to admit it but Daniel really likes her and would probably be heartbroken...I couldn't do that to him! Unless it was necessary. hehehe
I was too busy thinking that I didn't realize that I had stopped walking and that Jess and Dan were out of sight!
Well, no use fantasizing about the cliff since I'll never get to do it..Hey! Shit! They left me! SERIOUSLY?!
I take off jogging down the path but they are already long gone.
Damn...what do I do? Ok...if I continue to try and find them I could get lost. If I try going back I could get lost....DAMN YOU DANIEL!
Suddenly I feel a shiver run down my spin....someone...or something is watching me.
I slowly turn around and feel stunned, standing behind me, in the middle of the path, is the wolf.
Oh. Shit.
But....as I stand there, frozen, staring into its eyes, they appear almost human to me. And then shockingly the wolf whimpers and lays down!
Maybe......maybe he isn't going to hurt me.
Are you crazy?! It's a wolf! And a huge one at that!
Yes......But he seems somewhat harmless....
HARMLESS?! I repeat...WOLF! He's probably going to eat you!
I tune out the arguing going on inside my head as it's not particularly helpful to me at the moment. In fact, it's just distracting.
I take a deep breath, "You're....you're not going to hurt me are you?" I ask the beast. Because hey, it makes total sense to talk to a ridiculously large carnivore right?
The wolf, still laying down, just snorts and puts his nose under his massive paws.
Aw! Ok even for a huge wild wolf who might eat me that was kinda cute....
"Alright, well...wolf, I kinda need to go back and if I promise not to bother you, will you promise not to bother me?"
Oh good lord am I really trying to negotiate with a wolf?!
The animal just looks quizzically at me and cocks his head to the side and then suddenly, in the blink of an eye in seems, the wolf is replaced by a shockingly well built and handsome guy!
I'm so startled by this insane, nonsensical, impossible transformation, that I fall backwards landing painfully on my butt with a loud "Omph"
I am truly the Queen of Grace.
"I could never make a promise to leave you alone." says naked guy in a deep voice.
ohmygodohmygodohmygod!!
I panic and do the only thing that seems logical at the time, I jump up and run into the woods.
"Wait!" I hear the deep voice shout behind me but I ignore it and keep running.
Like heck I'm waiting!! Who waits for a naked guy in the woods?! WHY WAS HE NAKED?!
As I run I look over my shoulder expecting to see the guy chasing me but instead it's the wolf at my heels!
What the hell is happening?!
The fear of being chased by such a large and deadly animal spurs me on. Branches grab at my clothes and tear at my skin and my lungs burn with their desperate need for oxygen but I still push forward.
Suddenly, I'm tackled from behind and hit the ground. Hard. The air is knocked out of my lungs and I start to panic. I'm flipped over and my hands are pinned above my head by one of naked guys own massive hands.
He looks down at me, chuckling with a half smile on his face,
"Will you please not run from me?"
I just laid there gasping and coughing, trying to fill my lungs with air. The pounding of my heart ringing in my ears.
When my eyes focus and I can see my captor more clearly, I really can't help but notice how attractive he is; He appears to be around Dan's age, with dark hair, and shinning, playful green eyes, and a strong jawline...
Are you insane?! I screamed in my head, He just chased you through the freaking woods and tackled you and is holding you down AND HE'S NAKED and you start thinking about how attractive he is?!
The tackle must have knocked my brain loose or something, I mean come on! This can not be happening!
My lungs still burn from my run and the panic that's starting to rise within me does nothing to help slow my pounding heart and I find myself close to hyperventilating.
My captor looks down nervously at me and I notice what seems to worry flash onto his face which does nothing but confuse my now muddy mind.
By this point I am hyperventilating and starting to get light headed from the lack of oxygen.
This can't be happening, this is impossible, I must be dreaming, I have to be dreaming, I want to wake up! Someone wake me up! DAN!
The next moments are hazy and dreamlike as I find myself slipping away, the last things I notice are him leaning down and nuzzling his nose into the crook of my neck and him telling me to try and calm down.
After that I swear I can hear him whisper something but I'm not sure because at that moment, everything goes black.
