"Victoria?"

One moment I was completely zoned out and then the next I was having a mini heart attack and jumping (or maybe flying) out of my chair.

"Holy flipper flappers of heaven!" I swerve around and see Blake looking just as equally startled. Guess he's not use to girls almost flinging themselves out of chairs around him.

"You startled me!" I point out the obvious while clutching at my heart.

He gives me a look that's part bewildered and part apologetic,

"I'm sorry, I thought you saw me walk back into the room. You were looking right at me."

I feel my cheeks become ridiculously hot and I'm sure tomato red. I seriously need to stop zoning out. Time to mentally slap myself.

"I, uh, never noticed you walking through the doorway...."

He chuckles lightly and walks over and sits himself in the chair across from me at the table.

"......but I uh, might have also been a little in my own world." I sheepishly admit.

"Well, that would explain the blank expression I was getting from you."

It was at this point I realized, that I had in fact, dug myself pretty deep into the hole of embarrassment.

Saving me from having to try and dig myself out of that hole (an impossible task I might add.) Helen walked into the kitchen with some clothes folded in her hands.

"Here are your clothes," she said while handing them over to me, "all nice and clean and ready to wear."

I glance down at the crisp, clean clothes in my lap and wonder if she's ironed them. Which would be pretty unnecessary considering the fact that my clothes consisted of a t-shirt and shorts.

"Wow, thank you so much for going through all the trouble! They look great."

I smile my thanks to her which she returns with a smile of her own and a gentle pat to my shoulder. Then off she went, digging through the refrigerator muttering something about "over-ripe tomatoes".

"Well, excuse me for a few minutes, I'm going to go upstairs and change." I declare, gesturing to the clothes in my lap.

Before I get a response from anyone I'm shooting out of my chair and out of the kitchen. I really don't need them getting the full view of me in the nightgown again.

I climb the stairs taking the steps two at a time and make it to the top in record speed. Then it hits me; I had only been upstairs once and I really hadn't paid that much attention to where everything was.

I remembered that the bedroom had been at the end of the hall.....now the question was which end? Well, only one way to pick, Eenie meenie miney-OMPH!

I was suddenly being pulled backwards by the collar of my gown until my back hit what felt like a solid wall.

"The heck?!"

I peer upwards and see green eyes gleaming back down at me.

"Lost already, huh? I can't leave you alone for a minute can I?"

"Oh, ha. ha. funny. But no, I'm not lost at all thank you very much. Although, this really is a huge house."

He chuckles and lookes around as if he really had never noticed before.

" I guess it is pretty big and thank god for that because it keeps me from having to kick Jake's ass for being annoying all the time."

"Huh?" I question, scrunching up my eyebrows, "What does the houses size have to do with how often you kick his ass?"
