Back to Berk times One Shot. They are race to the edge age here. It takes place after shell shocked part two. One difference, the gang never seen that last kiss, and they don't know Hiccstrid is official yet. Hopefully it isn't too confusing. And yes. Viggo fell just like in the show. Just a reminder that this one might be a bit more fast paced. Enjoy~

Astrid sat rubbing Hiccup's back, as he massaged his own temples. He was torn apart after that last battle. He could stand knowing that he was the reason that Viggo died today. He threw the eye. He made Viggo fall. Luckily, his girlfriend was here to keep him from losing his mind.

"It didn't have to end that way..." Hiccup mumbled for the hundredth time in the past hour.

"Shhh, it's alright Hiccup. It wasn't your fault he dove for it. It's alright."

Her comforts didn't do much in soothing Hiccup's guilty conscience. Even if he knew truly, he wasn't a murderer, and he didn't do anything to directly kill Viggo, he still knew it was him, in a way. Astrid's nice massage was relaxing however, and did help ease him a bit.

If only Hiccup would have calmed down, and turned around to see who was watching him from his back hut window.

Ryker sat hunched down below Hiccup's window sill, watching the teenager stressing out.

'Hump,' Ryker thought. 'He thinks hes stressed? It wasn't his brother who died! It was mine! And now I'm gonna kill that boy!'

Ryker's fist curled into a ball subconsciously. His anger only grew as he seen the blonde reach over to Kiss Hiccup's lips. Why did they still get happiness? Why did all the Ryker had worked for disappear?

Night soon came, and the young blonde girl kissed her Boyfriend goodnight before they headed off to their respective beds, Astrid's of which was at her own hut. Ryker watched as the lass walked down the path, petting her dragon and disappearing into the night. Hiccup, laying on his bed, soon fell asleep, leaving Ryker to his thoughts.

Quietly, Ryker whispered to the sleeping teenager. "I'm going to kill you, Hiccup. Even if I have to do it alone!"

"But," a voice answered back from behind him. "You're never alone... Brother."

Ryker was overcome as he turned around to see his younger brother standing there, arms crossed. Scanning over his mostly unscathed body, he seen he was unharmed, aside from a small burn running across his forearm.

"Brother..." He whispered as Viggo smirked at him. "How did you survive?"

"Well that, is simple enough to explain." The man replied back. "I always do have a plan, you know this. Of course the boy won't sacrifice the wench for the dragon eye. I already had that figured out. From there, his moves were very easy to predict. He would either hand it to me, or throw it into the lava. That was straightforward. What he failed to see, was the small ledge lining the rim of the volcano. The chance was small of survival I know, but I took it, and survived. I even managed to save this!" he announced holding out the destroyed dragon eye. "Erm, maybe it needs a bit of repairs..."

Ryker just laughed. He nearly fell over, just holding his gut and laughing. Viggo raised an eyebrow.

"I can't believe you're alive! This is amazing! I'm sad to say I actually missed ya!"

"Ha. Well, it does help to come prepared."

The two brothers shook hands, before turning back to the one-legged suborn sleeping peacefully in his bed. Ryker was becoming less and less patient, before he gave up. He lept up, and began climbing through the window. His younger brother pulled him back, by the hem of his tunic.
