"Be the person you needed when you were younger."

Alex picked me up exactly when he said he would.
Of course I made fun of him. I mean, who wouldn't make fun of a boy who says he's always on time.
Well at least I do.
Alex seemed more attractive today. When he came for me at the door, he just calm. He looked more handsome when I looked at him. When I first met him, I hated the way he looked. But now that I look at his chiseled face, I can't get enough.
Shut up, Evelyn, you sound like Eliza.
"On a scale of one to ten, how likely are you to-"
"Fuck a dog? Ew, that's gross, Alex, why did that even come into your brain?"
He laughed. I loved making him laugh.
Alex and I had been playing the 'on a scale of one to ten' for about thirty minutes now since he picked me up. He would always ask the questions and I would always give a number. I mean, that's how the game works, right?
"That's horrible! Where did that come from?"
This time I laughed. My genuine, horrible laugh. I cut myself off, though, realizing how horrible it sounded. "No, I was reading your mind. Did you know I could do that?"
"Bullshit." Alex said, chuckling.
"Want to bet?" I asked, turning my body towards him. He was licking his lips, his eyes perfectly focused on the road. The day was bright, so the light pouring into the car bounced off his face.
We stopped at a red light, and Alex turned to me, biting his lip. He looked me up and down. "Sure. If I win, what should I get?" He made a humming sound and I giggled. "How about you draw me? And I get to watch you draw?"
"That sounds like something a pervert would say, gross." I looked down at my hands. Mother would love if he stayed the night to watch me so she could go out and party for once in her life without having to worrying about me. "Hm, fine." I said, finally deciding. "And if I win, you have to strip for me."
Alex snorted and the light turned green again. "Who said I had a problem with that?"
My cheeks turned pink. "Or you know, I could just choose the music on the way back..."
"Oh no, no, no." Alex said, beginning to laugh. "You already set your bet."
I looked at him and couldn't help but smile. "Fine." I turned my whole body around to face him and waited until we came to another red light to begin my "game". Alex turned towards me and grinned. "Okay," I said, "Choose a number between one and ten."
Alex closed his eyes and began thinking. I knew I couldn't read minds, but I liked to pretend I could. Usually if I knew the person really well, this game of mine was got me some really good food. Some people actually started believing I could read minds.
"Alright," Alex said after a moment, "I'm ready."
I looked into Alex's eyes and thought. He always came to pick me up places around twelve but I said one through ten. But I felt inside my chest that he would pick twelve. I smiled and said the number.
